Fuel controller / Timing controller

hi guys,
is it possible to get a fuel controller and timing controller in one??
ATM i have a boost controller (fitting it this friday) and im thinking that i might need a fuel or timing controller or something else. I cant really afford a total replacement ECU like a power fc or a link, but does anyone know if there are any cheaper fuel/timing controllers, or if you can get one with both?????
I want the car to run to its potential (at 12psi), without too much fuel consumption. And for it to also be safe eg. no pinging or detonation because of leanness.

Ethan,

Apart from a new ECU (Power FC etc) there's nothing that will do BOTH fuel and ignition.

But you can get seperate fuel and ignition piggyback systems.

If your ECU hasn't been moded or changed you'd be running pretty rich at the moment. One way around it is to use a S-AFC that piggy backs onto the ecu so you can change the air/fuel ratio.

They aren't as good as a full ECU replacement but for the money they are good and work.

If you want to get a second hand one (new are about $700) checkout this link

Go to the parts for sale part and check out a thread from JJM888 on 20.11.01. He has one for sale for $400. I don't know the bloke, but the price isn't bad.

BTW - BEFORE you do get anything, put your car on a dyno to see if you really do need one. It could save you a bit of cash :)

What About UNICHIP they claim that they adjust Timing and Fuel...

Read This
http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/unichip/unichip_more.htm

I am looking at going UNICHIP depending on its pro's and cons..

Apparently i read some where it is around $700 AUS and approx $350 To fit and Tune...

If the battery goes flat do you lose your maps in the UNICHIP...?????

AND with the Apexi S-AFC it apparently has a self learn function what is this about?

The best system on the market that does timing and fuel is SDS. The kit is very easy to install and a very good price.

Hi Joel, if you can get a unichip fitted and tuned for that price, get it.

I called APS(unichip distributors) a couple of week ago, and they wanted $1596 drive in-drive out. A lot more(bout $500) than when they were first released.

One of my mates got a unichip fitted to his Laser TX3 4WD about 2 months ago and it cost him about $1100 from Croydon's fitted and dynoed.
I don't know the deal with Skylines (if they cost more) but try them. It made a huge difference to his car, although it was already heavily modded without tunning 'till that point.
