Ive bin playing the game for 5 days and i got to Bunta just today. I got the subaru impreza wrx type r with 680k points on it. Why am i not getting any aerodynamic upgrades or freaking exhaust and shit. I keep getting these oil changes. Well anyway. Is their any easy way to beat him??I got close but right when he passes its all over, he just takes off like a 20 mph boost for him.

After you finish the initial customization (like 150k) you only get crappy stuff!

it makes your car a tiny bit faster.

To actually beat then you have to be able to drive pretty much perfectly.

:iagree: Always try to get the best line. Don't knock the rails and don't go too slow. :)

I beat him today finally lol. I found soemthing out thats pimp as fuck. If i challenge someone and go to irohazaka(expert II) i can pick wether i want to go downhill(regular) or reverse. Its really cool lol.

I can go backwards on expert II in the arcade. As in not going forward. Or from the bottom the to the top instead of from the top to the bottom.

I didn't know you can go uphill on Iro.. I'll try when I play.. Seldom play that track cause I suck.

I too took ages to get me to 150k.. :bloated:

You need a certain amount of wins for you to be able to pick backwards on irohazaka. So far my record is i think 9 losses out of like 90+ races

I saw some guy yesterday with 1,890,000 points. I was like :eek7: ! Anyways, he was getting asked if he wanted to install this hood, or those wheels at the end of every other race. So I guess customization never ends...but he also told me that it's pointless to take those things because they won't make your car faster, they are just for looks.

Neh, each parts affects your car performance a little. If you choose the parts correctly, you can run faster by 1 or 2 secs each time. Still depends though...

it costs points to change rims and sometimes the rims choice leaves you with bone stock ones. They make no difference.

Well, some parts...like if you go for the Misfiring System in the LanEvo then when you go for the Inspection you change courses....if you do it like that then it will help. But after a million points....i dunno how helpful anything will be.

Do i get anything good after 1 million points on the subaru wrx type r(bunta's car) ???

For the rims, I heard from my fellow friends who also play ID.. They says that some rims affects the handling.. :bloated:

yea more than likely but there's only as many rims as their are options to modify (routes) + The initial Rim set you get which you can buy back if you're stupid enough.

I thought there were no tunes for Bunta's car. Just things like plug upgrades and fluid changes. ?

[EDIT] I haven't gotten anything significant for his car yet. I'm only at like 100k though.

piece of advice...DO NOT BLOCK BUNTA!! he'll ram you into as wall, like what i do to some lol:rolleyes:

If you block him for long enought that will give you enough time to get up to speed and start leaving him again

Sorry for bringing up the old thread....
BUNTA SUCKS!!! I hate losing to the guy...i can't beat him yet! :banghead: And if you lose or win you have to see the credits and pay full price to try again! :headshake: That's crappy...just had to let that out.

I've never tried it...

then again i'm talkin about the Ver.2 here

is he really that hard?

B16 SiRII
08-25-2003, 03:37 PM
How many tries to beat him?
I have only tried twice then I gave up paying a dollar to race the bastard everytime!

[EDIT] He is pretty damn hard...one mistake and you'll never catch up. It would be easier if you could just continue after you lose to him...you'd still be warmed up to Akina then.

Um ok Where do I get the home version of this game. I've played the one in the arcade (love it) but at a 100yen a game it ca get expensive after a while.

It took me about 5 tries to beat bunta. What i would suggest is do Time Attack and practice that map downhill in the rain( i think thats what u play bunta in) a few times to get use to the course. And when he passes you the advantage just takes off unstopable, althought i did manage to catch back up to bunta once just not pass him cause hw blocked me lol. just dont hit the curbs ALOT, you can hit them sometimes just not on every turn.

Well at this point id liek to say something about buntas WRX......

I hate it, any car that you have to enter some stuffed up cheat to get isnt fair because not everyone can drive it. Ive been told how to get it but the car does have unfair advantage, here is how it works from what ive been watching...

If the driver in the bunta WRX is behind for a period of time the boost kicks in (even with boost turned off on multiplayer), the boost continues for the rest of the race, guys i were racing got up to speeds of like 180 as soon as they overtook me :(, considering they had max speed of like 150 or so when behind me thats definately unfair.

BTW- can anyone remind me what the cheat is for the car ;)

Learn how to drive his car its easy. I still get beat by like rx-7 and shit but very often. Its not always on the car.

p.s- its up up down down up down up down brake and change view
i think thats it :D

The fastest i have ever gone on buntas car was 204. Some cars on the game can go about 220.

You wanna know what is unfair?! That friggin ITR!!! :banghead: It handles like it was on rails...i don't think it takes much skill to play that car and win like crazy. I am not only saying this because I get beat by them ever so often, but I also have one. I stopped using it a while back cause it was ridiculously cheap. :headshake

No offense to those ITR drivers out there :icon16: but even the Spirit (which is supposed to be the best car on the first tracks) take a good amount of skills to handle correctly.

On a second note...i think that the hardest car to get a hang of it the TouringA engined Trueno...the powerband is so narrow! :2cents:

Just checked the ranking on segarosso's site. On Myogi, the Skyline's the king, while both rx-7 compete for the lead on Akagi.

Just a quick sum up,

Myogi - R32
Usui - Sileighty
Akina - Cappachino ( spelling? )
Akagi - FD RX-7
Happo - Integra
Iro - Integra
