i heard someone talking about hydrolock or something like that. it can happen if you have a cold air intake and no bypass valve. i was curious to how hydrolock can happen, does the CAI have to be completely submerged in water? or can it happen from water just getting on the filter . why im asking is because i pressure washed my engine today(the engine was off) and i got the filter on my CAI a little wet....i think, so i left my car off for about 30 minutes. then i started it and the engine sounded kinda funny, im prolly just imagining it but does hydrolock completely screw your engine right away or does it just run messed up for a while ?

ya I hydrolocked a ford ranger hittin a huge puddle at 50+ mph,
bent the rods and needed a new motor---this is why I have a short ram intake instead of a CAI, I dont like the idea of having my filter 6 inches from the ground....I'll sacrifice the 1/2 h.p.
