someone help!!!

i have a 1998 cavalier with a 2.2 that i believe is blown can someone tell me what other years of the 2.2 will fit in here like 2001 i hope and if so are they gunna be the same or some differences?

u can fit any cavalier engine in there from 1995-2003. 95-02 engines are both 2.2L and 2.4L, either will fit in there; the 2.4L obviously having the most h/p. and the newer 2003 ecotec 2.2L engine will also fit in there. if ur looking for h/p go w/ the 2.4L, but the best engine to get would be the ecotec, b/c it's light but slightly less h/p than the 2.4. but ecotec's are new and hard to come by, but u get what u can.

oh, and one more thing, if u drop a 2.4 or 2.2ecotec in place of ur old engine, u'll have to change the transmission, they're not compatiable.
