D16z6 Dizzy on a D16a6?

Is this do-able? I think I need a whole new dizzy, and I don't want to buy one for my a6, just to turn around and buy one for my y8 in a month or two... Does anyone know if this is feasible? I know the z6 is OBD1, but maybe if I throw it in, and just don't hook up the extra sensor(s)?

Well, could it have been because the A6 dizzy is OBD0, while the z6 ECU is OBD1?

you can use an a6 dizzy on the z6 if you have the obd0 ecu, and vise versa.....it just would just be a waste of money....obd1 a6?

No, it would save me money, because like I said, I'll be putting in my D16y8 soon (for which I will be using the z6 dizzy and P28 ECU), and if I need to buy a new dizzy now, I would much rather buy the z6 dizzy and use it in my a6 until I do the swap in a few months so that I don't have to buy the a6 dizzy now and then a z6 dizzy later...

k... but are you saying that I could get the z6 dizzy to work with the a6 ECU so that it's not OBD1? I just figured I could use the z6 dizzy exactly the same as the a6 one, but I just wouldn't hook up the extra sensor(s) required by the OBD1 ECU... ?

im really not sure, head over to the d series board maybe someone has tried that.....ive only tried the a6 dizzy on the z6 wit the a6 ecu and the vtec controller powering the vtec......and on the z6 you can only get 1 bolt to line up right if its on the right way but you can get 2 to match up if its on crooked, and ive heard on the y8 its a direct bolt on......ever think about a zdyne ecu powering your vtec?
