Fox Body Mustang (1983-1993)

Heres my new Model. It was Revell's low rider Mustang Foxbody kit (1983-1993.. im not sure if it was 1983 or 1979?? :confused: )
I painted it Cardnal red. Its practically flawless (with the exception of very minor orange peel). I am going to use the stock mag wheels, and maybe an afx Saleen Mustang spoiler (not sure) The engine is going to be wired up, and it has a supercharger (lots more pics to come :biggrin: )

Thats what i thought.......anyways that looks alot like mine and if you didn't read my other mustang thread mine isn't the low rider mustang it came like this.

Ive been looking for that kit for a while, and wanted to know if it was any good. I wish they would release it seperately instead of in the 3-pack, cause I`m not too interested in the other kits.

Heres an update, i got the supercharger in, and i got the distributer all wired up. Still need to make the brake lines.

It was 1979 to 1993, but they still use the same platform today for the current mustang.:wink: Looks good.

nope. Current mustangs are on the SN95 platform, which is a bit different platform from the foxbodys (hence foxbody suspension parts do NOT work on 95+'s) ;)

Yeah, 1999 or newer had IRS out back. :bloated:

Okay, i started modding it up a little. So far its got some Saleen Suspension bits, and the Saleen roll bar.

I need some opinions, should i got with the Outlaw Cowl Induction Cobra R Hood, Saleen spoiler, and Pony 5-spoke rims or Drag Lites?

Hood: www.afxnscaleresin.150m.com/images/Cobra%20R%20hood.jpg Only one problem, i dont know of it has the ball hood latch (stems molded on the hood with balls on the end that snap into the firewall) and also it looks a little thick? :bloated:

Wheels: I dont know. Go with stock or drag racer style.

Your doesnt have much detail at all, you need to paint the windsheid posts, and the belt molding on the dorr, and other little things, paint could use some polishing, otherwise looks good. :smokin:

Oh god damn it. I went to grab the car off my computer desk, and it slipped out of my hand.. crash on lower section of the computer desk. :mad: Gonna have to resand it and repaint it. The front end broke off messing up the paint. Also, the window posts could or coulnt be black. I looked on ebay, some cars had it some didnt.

Oh man that sucks monkey nuts!! And i meant on the posts, paint the visors, and the black trim around the posts.

No luck??????? I went to put it under my "heat" lamp, and i accident hit it with the hood messing up the clear coat BAH! :mad: :bloated:

painted door knobs, cowl vents, sun visors, and backwashed Mustang emblems on back. Dead batteries in camera=no pics :rolleyes: I got 1 atleast.

Update: Okay, i just ripped off the rear trunk tailight housing, and, took off the trunk racks. Im gonna put a SN95 Saleen spoiler on it now :biggrin:

OMG. god damn it. I put it under a heatlamp to dry the primer and it melted. Luckily the Saleen Spoiler took most of the abuse, but it also melted the convertalbe boot :mad: :mad:

i think this is when you put the tools down and take the break you were talkin about.:redface: :loser:

This car is offically a basket case. :frown: Burned beyond repair.

Not my taste of vehicle but you didi a great job with it. Very clean build.

Same here, except I'm afraid of being seen in public carrying a lowrider Mustang kit to the register. Even the 50% off sticker didn't give me any incentive. Maybe I'll have my wife get it on her way home from work.
