i'm a new member and new to modding. i'm going to lower my 2000 civic ex. so what all do i need to lower it? i don't really want coilovers. so all i need is just new lowering springs and shocks...right?

yep. You might wanna pick up a front strut bar too. It tightens the steering up and makes it more responsive. You don't need one though.

Does a front strut bar do anything for you if you're all stock?

Not as much as if the car is dropped, but it should tighten the steering a little.

It does the same thing whether @ stock or lowered height. The biggest improvement will be underhood looks.
