I would go for a b-16 in your crx not a zc unless you got a good plan for a build up. You should try e-bay there are quality stores on ebay that sell slightly used engines from japan. You can also try jdmrecycler.com they are recommended and sell b-16s. If your crx is an si then wiring will be a snap for the b-16. good luck:wink:

I bought my Civic Type R engine from www.inlinefour.com for $4,000 and $450 shipped it from Cali to Ohio. When they took it off the truck it was COMPLETELY wrapped in tough packaging, totally held together. It came with intake/exhaust manifold, ECU, full wiring harness, limited slip differential transmission w/axles, alternator, all belts, hoses and wires were actually taken off the doner car instead of snipped so they're reusable. A compression test showed 210 across all four (beyond perfect). The only thing was the throttle positioning sensor was busted, but all Civic tps's are swappable so I used my old one... no biggie. It shipped out on a Thursday and arrived the next Tuesday. It's been the most complete and highest quality swap I've ever seen in my life. Definitly give them a call before anybody else.

Hmotorsonline sells good engines too, but for the same price you don't get all the goodies like I did, from what I've heard on other forums.

yea inline four is a good shop. its actually not too far from me actually. they have some bad ass cars there (ie rhd integs, hatches, etc) 4000 for the b16b seems like a good deal. i know the ctr motors are going down in price lately havent they? i remember they used to cost almost the same as a b18c5. i saw no point in getting the ctr motor. i havent looked into honda motors for a while now so yea i guess things have changed. oh well.

The point for me is because I have a hatch, I guess for "cool points" maybe. And it's a lot faster than my D16... Also I wanted something I wouldn't need to mod up to go fast, and I don't have the money for a turbo. Seemed the perfect engine for me. They have other engines too, along with Spoon/JUN crap piled up on their site. Check them out if you want, it was just a good suggestion.

I bought my B16A w/lsd, appropriate axles and ecu, hasport mounts and linkage, shipped from CA to MD for $2200 total cost. I bought it from Hmotorsonline and Steve was easy to work with. IMO he's a good guy, and a straight shooter. I've heard he's out of stock at times (he was when I initially called), but I was patient and he came through for me.

Really? Initially I called them looking for an Si engine and yeah, they were out of stock. The guy started getting short with me when I asked him for advice on what to get for my hatch. The best they had at the time was an '01 GSR for $4k, same as my B16B. I told him I'd check around and call back and he didn't even say bye. I called back and got voicemail, left a message and they never called me back.

I talked to a guy named Steve at Inlinefour too, and he was pretty cool with helping me out about technical crap. The engine they were going to send me failed a compression test so they called and let me know they'd order a new one and send it. From what I've heard most places just grab an engine and ship it out... I was pretty impressed with him not sending me a garbage engine for an extra buck.

You have to understand that you are probably not the only person that asked hm those kinds of questions. What is best for your hatch, isn't an easy question for anyone except you. And they are a dealer, not really a tech shop.

I understand that, but I'm also a customer and because of their attitude they didn't make $4,000+ that I was going to pay. Oh well, I drove my car last night for the first time with the B16B swapped in and I'm beyond happy with it.
