Del Sol Turbo Type R

Yes it's finally done!!! I am experimenting with new camera software right now though and this is the only way it is letting me upload the pics so I will only post a few now.

I am sorry this is the only way to post right now but I just had to show these pics.

is it me or does that thing look really small? awesome model!

dam really nice. Is that the model staright fomr the box, like did it come with teh fenders, kit, ect.

Is it me, or does your Del-Sol almost look like the civic in your sig? Great job, and good luck with the new camera.

It came as a stock Del Sol that was already built by the owner. I stripped it down and rebuilt it to his specs, the fenders, bumpers and basically EVERYthing else is scratch built!!!

Spoonman: I guess this does look like my Civic in my sig eh? that was purelly coincedence.

And here is yet another shot. hopefully I will have this camera figured out by tomorrow, unless the upload page is messed up then it is not me. I just can't get the upload page to take my pics???

Is it me or does it look like its got a veilside front clip. Also the wing to me is a tad big.

The front is a wings west style but wings west "borrowed" the style from veilside who are the originators of this style. The wing looks like it is suppossed to based on the pics in the progress thread. I think it came out very accurate.

nice car you got there, i can see you have put in lots of effort, but try not to pop out the bonnet IMO because your connections between the turbocharger, exhausts and intercooler are not correct. given a real car it cant even start the engine.

What EXACTLY do you think I plumbed wrong???/ I know this is right because I based it off the Turbo's I HAVE installed on Civics with this motor in REAL LIFE. I know 100% that I did it right but please inform me what is "Wrong" in your opinion??

looks like I forgot this pic of the undercarrige to show that YES, this is plumbed correctly (sorry if I sound like an asshole)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks the ITR motor should find it's way into curbside Honda's.

I will have to dig out some old Tamiya Honda projects to see if this will work...
I was planning to use the whole chassis but considering I'm using a CRX body I'm thinking the track and wheelbase will be way off!

Yea, swapping the ITR motor into my curbside hondas has been my obsession ever since the day the Revell ITR came out, I bought 4 my first time! the CRX in my avatar was my second swap I had done and it takes some shoe horning but i will fit (you can see pics on my site linked in my sig). You will have to cut the wheel wells if you want to drop it w/o putting a body kit on it, if you need any tips just let me know as I have built 3 CRXs and 1 of them I built 3 different times so I know my way around these cars.

I think I understand your question, but it did not make very much sense.

That looks a lot like my friend's Del Sol. He's been doing a lot of engine work to it (and was planning on replacing the engine with another one...not an import guy...don't ask me which one). The body kit and hood actually look exactly like his...he's just got a different wing and his car is all black. Very Sleek, and with that turbo, very fast.

I know but i am going to cut out the engine lid and just put it in there the same as when it was still in my itr.

I am not sure why it looks so small, it is 1/24th scale. It must be the body kit and wheels that make it look like that??

Great job, I am impressed on your level of detail, can't wait till I can start doing modifications.
