'Bout 30 - 32 psi?
I run 32psi cold and 'bout 34 when my tyres have warmed up a bit. That might be a bit hard for your low pros tho.

You should put a bit more pressure if they are low profiles. I've got the same setup as you (235/45 & 255/40 R17's) er.. 35-36psi for me. Any less gives shitty tyre wear

I have standard sized wheels/tyres (atm anyway), and I found at 35psi I would get lots of squealing and protestations from my tyres if I drove *cough*enthusiastically*cough* round corners. Now I'm at 38psi (that's with cold tyres - measure them after driving for a while and they're up significantly :) ), and no more squealing...unless I really provoke them. :D :coolguy: :D

Check the sidewalls of your tyres for max PSI ratings, most 40, 45 profile tyres I do the max recommended pressure is 36PSI.

45psi seems a little extream to me. Typically in the states there is a pressure recomendation in the drivers door jamb. The 235 wide tires would be alright with just barely over factory, the wider tires will require a couple psi more. :)

Sorry, I misread. 45 series tire not 45psi. But stiil 36 seems a bit high, what sort of bad wear are you seeing?

Depends a lot on the Make and model of the tire. It hangs very much on the construction of the tire. E.g I have some P Zeros at the moment and psi is rated at 55psi and I run them at around 40.

Are you happy with the Pirellis? Thinking about getting them.

Yea they are good. Only the P Zeros though... don't get anything else.

Just keep in mind that they wear quite quickly. And very expensive if new. So another good choice will be Dunlop FM901's or depending on what size tires and how the car is setup... some Michellen MXF Sports are nice too..

Tell me more about your car. And what size tires you are getting.
