the speakers in the car keep going on and off sometimes. it seems like the speakers are blown cause i only hear static sometimes. i have a sony minidisc head unit. its wierd, cause like i turn off the head unit, keep it off for a while, turn it on, and the speakers work for only a short time. then i hear static and it shuts off agian. so i repeat the process and thats all i can do. does it sound like my speakers are blown, or is it just a bad connection? hope i dont have to change them. the speakers are stock still.

Ya, check the connections.
Static could be from a loose wire touching another wire or something else.

it couldnt be cause the speakers are going bad right? cause then they wouldnt work at all.

Ya never know. They could be going bad. Are they stock speakers or aftermarket?

Sounds to me more like a bad connection or electrical problem more than a bad speaker though. Need more info though.

I tend to agree... It could be blown speakers, but my advice is to check the wiring. Make sure that nothing is rubbing or worn down. Is it all 4 speakers or just one side/front/rear??? Do you have a cell phone? I don't know particularly about your car, but I know that in my manual it mentions that the stock speakers on the 93 P10 may experience static due to interference from cellular phones...

anyways, do you have any amps? sometimes, when they get hot they tend to distort the sounds that are coming outta your speakers and sometimes it'll shut off when it gets too hot, it's just a protection from frying your amp, most newer amps have'm

im running stock speakers and an aftermarket head unit. all four speakers do not work, im thinking its the connection, well hoping at least :D no amps, well the head unit but thats it. i know what cell phone distortion sounds like so its not that. when they do actually work, they work just like normal, i dont think there going bad though. except, when the head unit is off and i turn off the car, sometimes i hear static coming from the speakers.

Hey, do you have another speaker to replace it with? If you do, you can check to see whats up and if it really is the speakers or not.
Kinda hard to believe all 4 of your speakers are going bad though.

nope i dont have another speaker to replace. well since the power sending to the speakers is equal, isnt it possible to make them all go bad since its all the same power? and when they first started going bad, the speakers were playing but with bad sound quality, i could hear the music really low but static was overpowering all of the speakers, so i think they are going to blow soon. :(

is replacing speakers hard? isnt it just cut the old wires, and connect the new ones? where can i check the size of the speakers so i can replace them?

If you're replacing the speakers on a G20 be prepared for a bit of a b*tch of a time... But it could have been much easier.

On the p10 you have to remove the entire rear seat, remove the plastic board over the rear deck, and then get at the speakers... Run a search for more specific info...
