Invest it and hopefully retire pretty quickly.

:iagree: :werd: In today's world, 1 million dollars is a not a lot of money, realtively speaking. Investing would be the best way to go in the long run.

I think they are like $250,000 a pop so ya could get like 3 and still have some change left over to buy whatever you want.

Buy alot of plane tickets, and get everyone together for an international AF meet

Realistically, id get a nice house, furnished and all paid for. A couple of nice cars, and fix them up a bit (probably not exotics, they are just too much money), and save whatever is left for retirement...

I am with you bud, invest, invest, invest....then when I have about 20 mil from investing put it in the bank and live off the interest :bigthumb:

I would take 250,000 dollars, put it in the bank to gather interest and have myself add on to it, invest another 250,000 in the stock market, and use the rest for whatever I saw fit.

i would spend it all in the matter of a week.

on land. here in az houses are going up laike crazy so i would buy land a little farther out than where the developement is and sit on it.
then when the time comes sell it, and buy more land farther out.

300K on a house
200k in toys
and invest 500K

Take about $650k and invest that, the other 350 would be for a house, cars and such, then once my investments made enough money I'd take that and invest it again and make more and more until I have enough to live off for the rest of my life.

Personally, I'd put it in a savings account and use the interest to supplement my income as an EMT/Paramedic. I wouldn't spend it all.

Alright, after participating in I don't know how many of these threads at this point you quickly realize that the people want to look at diverse answers. I will veer away from investing and/or purchasing a home and car, not because it's what I would do, but people I suppose enjoy reading about what someone given 1 million dollars would end up doing.

After considering some charities, I would probably keep a very high percentage of it for myself, call me selfish if you will everybody's in this rat race and I will try and win any way I can.

In this case I would place the term win on some form of either long or short term enjoyment that could only be attained in the presented situation. So when it all comes down to how I'd spend it, I would probably purchase a very nice car, perhaps an F50, or something within that range that I found very pleasing. Forget insurance and anything else, I would absolutely love to be driving my Rossa Corso F50 around the University Campus and anywhere for that matter. It would either be a very nicecar or something total wierd like buying an Asimo (Honda's super cool very realistic humanoid robot) for about 100K and then spending the rest on about 711,000 boxes of KD and then build a fort with the robot who would now be named Baron Heinz von Ketchup.

I dunno, a million dollars is a lot for even the rich people, it's hard to decide what choices should be made within a matter of minutes and limited education and knowlegde on the prospective items.

Well a $1,000,000 is €885,901.60

Well first things first pay of my newly acquired €160,000 mortgage. Then I wouldnt even dream of invisting in stocks at the moment. The market simply isnt there for it. I would buy 2 or three more properties in the dublin area and rent all of them for in the region of €1500pm. Marry my fiance sooner then we expected so as we can enjoy of tax saving. Leaving a couple of hundred thousand allowing us to both retire at the grand old ages of 25 and live of the money coming in from the rent on the other rented properties.

Depending on your goverments tax policy - you'll be luck to have much more then half of that million. The only thing I know for sure is that my and my wifes folks would not have to work another day if they don't want to. Its all for them. Our retirement fund is going quite strong and while I wouldn't turn the money away - we don't need to have it.

But Im willing to try to spend a million if you all would send me $10 dollars US each, that will get me started!! :grinyes: :grinyes:

proud to say my dad has a 530i. I CANNOT think of a better car for a middle aged guy whos too old for a sports car, yet not ready for a luxo-barge

It is prob. the greatest sedan(barring the Skyline) of our time.

Buy a house for around $600k, go on a fucking big holiday and buy a smaller property to renovate and sell for a profit. Buy ANOTHER house from the sale and rent out the $600k one. Long story.
