Looking for a Junkyard Turbo for a CRX with a B16b

Hi....

New to the forum here. Just looking for advise from those who had alread paved the way...

I've been salvaging from the Local Pick-a-Parts and came across a Supra 7M-GTE turbo. Really tempted to buy it. Just wondering if this would work with my motor or should i look for something smaller.

Any links to good sources of DIY turbos suppliles like flanges, manifolds, writeups... etc. for my motor?

ok, isnt this rediculous, I clicked on the link and this is the pic on the front page, WHY would you have wheelie bars on a FWD? or would a launche with so much power make the front end want to lift a bit and this keeps the wheels on the ground? looks kinda :bloated: to me?

well son sit down and let me tell you.



on a fwd car like the integra they are called traction bars. the actually he hold down the FRONT of the car, sort of like what a wing does for rwd cars. adding downforce except it is adding it to the front of the car to keep traction.

I'm working on some junkyard turbos myself at the moment, but I haven't run them yet. You can find some fascinating information on the proper sizing of turbos and all the components you will need in Sport Compact Car magazine from back in 2001, I think from September and October. The Supra turbo I'm sure will not work. However, if you run a certain amaount of boost, an Audi K24 might work--might. I'll be running either a K24 or an A4 on a D15...Don't laugh, dude. It should net me at least 160 horseys for a few hundred $. I'm still trying to find something for my H23 project. First, you have to do the numbers. Make sure the turbo is large enough, runs better than 70% efficiency where youy need it to avoid excessive heat and will not go off the scale and give you compressor surge, which could kill your turbo and your engine. So get the mags, do the math, get all your homework done and do some 1/4's in the 13's or better. If you can't find the mags, check out some internet sites on how to read compressor maps for turbos and see if they can't steer you the right way. I think that some SCC articles are on the internet, too. Good luck.
