It must be a hardtop, because the roof won't go where the engine is. I wish they had a picture of it with the roof on.
What's the matter with the targa roof anyway?

Looks kinda wierd, eh?
It must crumple up behind the seats somehow.

Actually...it looks like it must rest flat under that boot that's raised. It must be raised to accomodate the top, and also to make the door handles not stick up all by themselves

I read once when Honda was designing the NSX, they had problems with the side windows bowing out at top speeds. That's why they came up with that extra piece of door where the door handles are now.
If they had trouble with the glass windows trying to move around, who knows what'll happen with a cloth top?
I dunno... I juz dunno...

In the general case, the biggest issue has to do with the loss of structural rigidity when you cut the roof off. This is downright dangerous IMO.
Honda did extensive structural modifications when they released the removable-roof NSX-T in 1995, and even that car is noticeably less rigid than the fixed-roof NSX coupe.
I agree... its a bad idea, particularly if you drive your NSX the way it was meant to.

NSX-T is not as rigid as NSX Coupe. However Honda did add more support on the base to soften the loss of roof. That's why NSX-T weight quite a lot more than NSX Coupe.

i dont like the job that newport convertibles does.. i mean yes they are one of the only professional companies that converts regular cars into convertibles. But i mean when the convert them they have those stupid roll bars they always put in.. i mean for the trucks and stuff those are for support for the roof... but i mean if you have a truck.. i seriously hope you dont plan on rolling a duelie like on the site and hoping that roll bar will save you..
