Ok guys, the B.S is over.
It turns out, my dad is thinking of opening a performance shop, related to our favriote sport(not drag racing ;) )
So, hobviously, we're gonna need a demo car, to show off the crap we sell.
Now, I know I usually B.S and other stuff, but I need the advice of the SR20 people, and I mean people who have DONE the swap.
What engine do you have, and what problems did you encounter.
The shop is tentative, and we are in the planning phase. We hope to sell wares such as BRIDE, TEIN, KAAZ, ARC, HKS, Fujitsobo, APEX'i, Blitz, Greddy/Trust, URAS, 5Zigen, T&E, GP Sports, Chockets, G-Grow etc.
We are currently scouting locations, and securing wholesale accounts with the distributors of those companies.
So to any of you who own TEIN suspensions, KAAZ LSDs, or SR20 Motors, your advice and input is appreciated.
Once more details are avalible, Ill post it in the appropriate section(I cant advertise  )
Thanks,
Derek
P.S I see a few newbs here who havent seen my wrath :D HAHA

first point: i definatly love your signature, the quote and the car. but the quote i couldnt agree with more....anyway
second point: i have a 95 240sx se model, with an s14 sr20det. i encountered a bunch of ECU problems (broken ones, wrong model sr ecu, etc), however, i believe this is rare. the second problem, which is more common was overheating. i ended up ditching the one row for a dual row koyo aluminum.....zero problems with heat now. and emissiosn was kind of tough for me, but if its your poster car, it wont need to deal with that i'm guessing.
keep us filled in on your progress, best of luck

Derek - while i've explained to you how i would love to help out in every single way possible if this shop idea does come around, i think you're being a bit too presumtuious. you're acting, so far anyways, as if the shop is already planned, all the deals are secured, and it's just waiting to open up. i say don't count your apples before they've grown. i've heard of/seen people who have massive ideas like this, think it's great, plan it all out, and then either lose interest or have something else happen, and it never comes about face. i'm just warning you not to get too excited etc. just yet. not until you're 100% sure that yes, the shop will open up etc. it's just a bit too early so far, and i can see this going either way, so just be careful is all!

Knowing my dad, it may not go through, but hey, this is valuble later, for when you or I swap, or if we do a shop.

1)Downtown Toronto
2) Group Buys...If all goes according to plan, I may be able to do better
3) Yes, My dad can do web design
4) It will take a year to get everything organzied I assume
5) Not SR, but hes not bad. My dad used to rally, but it was street racing(He grew up in barbados where they had 2 paved roads)
Roby (Takeshi_Nakazato) is good with a wrench, and my dad worked in the auto industry nearly all his life, so he knows his top notch mechanics
This isnt gonna be some pissant shop based out of an insutrial park unit
Assuming everything goes to plan, this will be the first, and only shop devoted to RWD Japanese cars(we will cater to WRX's and such too)
Im hoping to have enough room for a lounge where u can hang out, even if your not buying anything, and a room where you can try seats before buying them :D
Hopefully Ill also sell other trinkets, such as shirts, model cars and...OPTION MAGAZINE( :ylsuper: ) !!!!

consider me a customer then.
i live in maple. :cwm27:
by the way, i wouldnt go downtown. many people wont bring their cars their simply because of the stop and go and the parking hassle will overwhelm the shop parking lot.
consider north york or Roger/Dufferin area for a shop. and start distributing flyers and DEFINATELY get a tv commercial time slot if u know whats good. i worked at a shop and they said that having ur ad in turbo& hi-tech mag just isnt enuff.
and if u need help with the website, i can lend a hand.
