Rear axle leaking?

Agh. I just bought this thing back in May. I've got about 18,000 miles on it. 2500HD, 4x2, diesel. Looks like the rear driveshaft seal or the diff housing is leaking.. anyone seen this before? It's not a bad leak, more seeping than anything else, but it's kind of concerning. Sure, it's under warranty, but if it's not gonna fix the leak for good, I figure I'll do the repair myself and find a way to fix it for good. Anyone have any experience with this? Any advice? And yes.. this is my first Chevy truck... why pay $44k for the Ram 3500 w/Cummins when I got this for several THOUSAND less? :D

Ya, i have. It is the axle seal that is leaking. All u have to do is pull the axle out and replace the seal. They start to leak sometimes, although i didn' t think it would do it so soon. But that is what it is. Just pull the drum off and pull out the axle. You might have to take the diff. cover off and take out the axle pin that holds the axle to the spyder type gear(i foret what it's called). I've done 2 axle seals, and don't recall them being hard to do. It isn't a major problem.:smoka:
