SRS Light
Never Enough Power

Was installing a turbo timer in my gs-t and poked the SRS wire with a test light. The SRS light is now on. I have tried unplugging the battery to reset the computer, to no avail. The dealer wants $80 to reset the computer. Any way I can do this myself?

Damm , you coulda popped the airbag doing that. You basically got lucky. Unplugging the battery shoulda reset the ECU. Depends on how long you did it for. Try pulling the plug for about an hour , and also step on the brake pedal. Its good way to get rid of any leftover charge in the system. Also try unplugging the SRS altogether. You may have damaged the airbag activation or grounding circuit by probing it. And next time leave the YELLOW wires alone.:bloated:

Battery was unplugged for about 1/2 an hour and I did use the brake to drain any extra juice in the system. Haven't tried unplugging the SRS altogether, though. I'll see what happens, thanks.

SRS system is seperate from the ECU. So is the ABS. They have thier own controllers. But thats about all the info I can offer ;)
