Ive heard of alot alot of 2g eclipses with crankwalk. My 97 gst has 130,000 and i havnt had it so i guess some cars dont get it.

MOST cars dont get it. 99 is even less likely to get it, though they all can. Mitsu changed the thrust bearing design mid 97, or for the 98 model year. Take off the intake pipe and check for shaft play (a little bit is normal, and actually required) to make sure the turbo is ok. Try taking some tight figure 8 type turns to verify the center diff is ok. Everything is the same as buying anoy other car. Check the airfilter to verify that the previous owner took care of the car, or the dealership went through all these things. Check the oil to see how it looks. Etc.

It would bind up. You'll know it if the diff is bad ;) It can get pretty voilent. If the diff is bad and the person kept driving it, the tranny is most likely junk too from all the metal bits floating around in the oil. Now this isnt that common, but I have seen it and thought it was worth mentioning since its AWD specific...
