Turbo because you can make more power but most people ge super charger because its more practical

definitly turbocharged...its alot more work, and it isnt really that practical, but its fast....reaaaaaallll fast.

TURBO! TURBO! TURBO! TURBO!
supercharger sucks di*k!
if you like to screw bolts adn want hp then turbo!
if you are lazy and want a little boost then supercharger
:thefinger (fu*k) superchargers

I would supercharge mainly because of the reliablity and if you want to add more boost just change out pulleys and bam you add more.

aside from bias you have to consider some things when selecting what kind of forced induction you want. if you want power that comes immediately with no lag then i would choose a supercharger. if you want power with a little lag but more of a rush when you step on the throttle then go with turbo. also do you like the sssssss sound of a turbo or the sound emmited by a supercharger. i like turbocharged because when they kick in its just a huge adrenaline rush.

neither, vr6 is not meant for forced induction.
2.0 on the other hand, I have a atp stage 2 kit on my 95 gti 2.0 and I love it. Faster than any vr6 arround here!

if only it were that easy lol. everyone i know that has gone to smaller pulley/ more boost has had nothing but belt issues. the only person i know that doesnt, is only running 8-9psi..

VF has a solid supercharger....the compression is a bit high in a vr6 for full potential of a turbo.

Ok the VR6 was originally designed to be a diesel engine. So it can take a lot of power without having to change the internals around 450whp has been used longterm on the engine without having to change the internals. So with that. How much money do you want to spend? A reliable VRT turbo setup(excluding the Kinetics turbo kit stage 1 and 2)will be around 5-6k but yield around 385-450whp. What you want to do is also take into consideration when do you want boost to peak? The biggest problem with VRT's in the past is that the owners were all hell bent on lowend torque and would just fry their tires a majority of the time. Now the smart people have been getting bigger turbo housing's around .70-1.06 with turbo housings this size max boost hits around 4-5k in the powerband. This is good due to the fact you will have good traction at lower rpms were you need it and towards the upper RPMS the boost will come on gradually and not have that lame ass torque spike that wastes your power on wheel spins. If I had the money I would go with either a GT42/1.06 or .82,GT40 1.06 or .82, or a GT35 1.06 or .85. The turbo sizes are good b/c the bigger they are also the higher in the rpm band you will see max boost at. So also if you want to lower compression just put on a thicker headgasket also intercoolers are important.
S/C 2 Great companies make S/C's for the VR6 right now VFenginneering stage 1 will run you $3500.00 and yield you between 225whp-240whp depending on mods(if you have cams etc.). Stage2 VFengineering will yield between 250whp-275whp(depending on your mods cams/headwork). Stage2 Will cost around another $1000.00.
C2 Motorsports makes a good S/C setup for the VR6 costing around $3500.00 but yields around 260-275whp. You can IC both of these companies.
www.vwvortex.com will have more accurate info than I do. Just go to their forced induction thread and also use the search option for more info.
