Down coolant temps, down!!

Heh. Just installed my drilled 180º T-Stat and Casper's cooling fan switch. Should really help me in this heat we've been getting, time to go for a test drive. :biggrin: :dogpile:

whats the diff between the regular 180* stat and drilled stat? (besides having holes in it?)

With a regular T-stat, coolant only flows through when the T-stat is open (obviously.), but the engine can still warm up faster even with the 180º because it's closed.

With this, I drilled 3 holes in the metal circle (forget what drill size), this way coolant can always flow.

It's good because in the summer, it takes a little longer for the engine to get hot, and it tends to keep the coolant cooler with my fans on.

The drawback is that in the winter, since it takes longer to warm up, the car will need to be on a little longer to start getting heat out of the heater core. Some people keep changing them in the winter/summer, but I'm just going to leave this in...
