Help with my amp...

I've had this amp sitting in my basement for a few years after my sister took it out of her Blazer, and I want to install it in my Sedan, but I'm not quite sure how to wire it... It's an MTX Thunder 4320. It looks like it's a 4-channel amp, but I only want to use it to power my two subs. So, how do I go about bridging it, and what settings should I use for the Gain, EQ, and FREQ? It has different Gain, EQ, and Freq. settings labelled "front" and "rear"... I'm totally confused.

I can barely read it, but on the bottom pic it tells you EXACTLY how to hook it up for bridged operation

If your talking about #51, at the bottom it only shows a 2 channel amp wiring diagram. It doesn't show how to wire a 4 channel down to 2 channels, much less a 4 to 1 channel if the amp is capable. A 4 to 2 is basically the same as bridging a 2 to 1. You bridge 2 channels together to one speaker, and you bridge the other 2 to the other speaker. As for the different gains, eq's, and freq. settings, it's because the amp is made to handle door speakers as well, if you use the amp for that. Since you're not, then most often you'll find that channels 1 and 2 are controled by the front, and channels 3 and 4 by the rear. So if you bridge one sub across 1 and 2 you can adjust the gain..etc. by the front controls, and then bridge the other sub across 3 and 4, you control it by the rear controls. As for the 4 to 1 channel, I don't know exactly how to do this, and I don't want to tell you wrong and mess something up. Maybe Paul D can answer that question for you. Good Luck

Well, what I ended up doing was just using the "rear" inputs, and the "Rear" outputs and it works fine... Figured since there's no signal to amplify on the "front" channels, then all the power would be going to the "rear" channels...

Anyways, put it in, wired it up, here's the thread with pics if anyone's interested... My second time installing an amp, and I think I did a decent job:

ok u should have 2 cables runnin from ur deck for the sub that are for the front an rear, since its a four channel amp front an rear should have four holes for wires, since u only have two u have to get this wire adapter that converts the 1 wire in two so both front an rear are all hooked up,
as far as wiring goes just remeber to take pos an neg from one sub nad hook it up to pos from ur lef channel an neg from ur right an do it to both channels

if that made any sense it should be hooked up right
