Mach1 Shaker Hood

I was looking at pics of the new Mach 1 and I was wondering if that whole "shaker" hood thing is feasible. I read in Car and Driver it's not. Does someone know if the thing makes any improvement in air cooling, intake or does it just look neat to have?

Well it is functional, but mainly just for looks. The air has to go though a few turns and bends before it reaches the air box. From there it it heads into the intake manifold, just as it would in a normal Mustang without the shaker hood.
