Not really sure if you'll wanna mess with this. It involves doing internal mods to the ECU. Proceed at your own risk.

Doesn't look like its that hard. Or If you'd rather not mess with it , just go buy an AWD ECU. Read the article , its good.:bigthumb:

hope you got rid of the stock H rated tires!!!
thats the reason it only allowed to go 130 anyway

ummm.... my only question is... how many times have you hit 130 in your eclipse?
I've done it once and will never do it again...
Only reason i am saying this is because if you've ever done it, it's a rare and risky thing... also you won't reach that speed on a quarter mile, so basically, you won't really need to go faster than that unless it's to serve another purpose.

Is it really necessary to drive 130? :bloated:

what would the top speed b if the limiter was off? Im guessing 145-150 because the gsx is 140

I've been well over 150 in my gsx. That was a long time ago, and I'm not stupid enough to try it again to see what it does now  All it takes is a piece of debris in the road or an animal, or a small malfunction, and then your done. Acceleration is more fun then top speed anyway I think.

And that the whole point of the DSM's , I beleive. Acceleration and midrange. I personally went a touch north of 160 in my 92 GSX , smooth as glass , but not really worth the risk , IMO. On a dedicated racetrack its a whole 'nother ballgame , than playing Speed Racer on the highway. I also don't appreciate street-racers who feel the need to go past 100 mph on a city street. 60 mph is more than enough to determine a winner. I don't even but rarely go past 100 on the highway. If someone feels the need to do 130 on my street , warn me first so I can leave town :eek7:

I agree. I'm more than willing to molest some riced out honda on the highway, but if he thinks I'm going start playing at 75-80 mph, I let him go. If someone is serious, they'll slow down with me to 55, and race to 90ish (top of third or so). If he thinks he has a chance against me in 4th gear when he couldnt keep up in third, he's retarded anyway... :iceslolan

How would H rated tires effect ur car speed limiter? Does it matter if u have Z rated or H rated tirest to go pass 130?

H rated tires are only rated to 130, if that. So the factory put a limiter there to reduce liabilty. The GSX came with better tires (and lower gearing) so it doesnt have the limit. Mitsu knows that some toolbox will take the car over 130 on H rateds, blow one up, hit the wall, and sue them ;)

isnt the GSX gear limited to a 180mph???

Yes, but that depsnds on your rev limit ;o) I think 180 assumes a 8k rpm revlimit. Also, there are some 5th gears made by TRE that are good to over 200 mph. Top speed isnt really my bag, but a taller 5th might get my gas mileage back over 25 again. :)
