Just wanting to know what other mods I can do for more power. I've done some stuff already.
Exhaust - cat removal & higher flowing mufflers
Cold air induction
Pod filter
3" mandrel bent pipe from filter to throttle body
Advanced timing running 98 octane

I'm thinking about doing the cams but I'm unsure about the cost involved.

Here's a pic of the engine bay view before the the 3" pipe was installed last week...

Hey Chooper Get rid of that Wrinkly Rubber Flex Hose, Replace it with a smooth hose.. should be good for about .5kw :) on a NA

Get rid of that radiator clutch fan and replace it with a gigantic electric fan, get yourself an electric fan controller (Billion Japan made one), that should give you a better response on startup and easier highway cruising.

Put a full exhaust on it, extractors, and 3/2.5/2.25inch (whatever size is the right size according to zaust shops) exhaust pipe all the way thru.

Get the head done, new cams, higher compression ($$$$ for high comp pistons) some aftermarket tuning gizmos, ecu tuned by pro, get rid of the fan...um thats all i can think of atm.

But if you think about it.....turboooooooooo.

NOT EVERYONE WANTS A TURBO:devil:

Yeah, I have an RB30E. Weight and engine capacity are not on the side of an NA car, Turbo power helps over come them, or lots of NA mods.

I like na, and i like turbo, noone was knocking na's.

When it comes to NA and headers, be DAMN careful... the wrong setup can see you losing power...

I'd be doing some head work. The best performing exhaust tends to be 2 1/2 it need some bends for back pressure. the cams are already pretty wild 270o so unless you don't mind loosing drive ability keep the stock ones. then when you get serious get some higher compression pistons to bring your compression ratio up to 11.5 to 1. better rod bolts balanced and toughen crank.cam gear wheels if its a 2.5 there is the posibliltie of putting on the rb 30 bottom end. the list goes on. I wouldn't sink too much cash into the engine cause with a turbo setup you will make the power and some. the start stripping weight out of the car. there is a crown in australia who say for $1k approx doin head and cams they can get an rb30e to put out 119 kw @the wheels the to me seems like value and could be a good guide.

Cheers guys, I bought a NA Skyline cause no one would insure me for a turbo. You see this is my first car & I'm only 19. Gotta wait for a few years before they will let me get a turbo.
I've had a look for some headers out here & can't get any, they tell me that they don't make them & that the factory ones flow pretty good anyway. Found some NISMO ones but they are damn expensive. Gonna do that fan thing some day too. Oh, it's a RB20DE. Insurance wouldn't let me get a GTS25 either. Still the 2ltr is good for pissing on V8's & Vtecs, not hard tuned ones tho.

dude if your car is the rb20 here are the options.
head you should do this. then you can have the motor stroked to 2.4 (and the insurance wont know :-))using an rb25 crank and rods I think.
I would also consider getting cam wheel adjusters there were some extactor in the for sale area off an rb25 these fit and rb 20. may be a rom tune.
cheers
