damn, how did they steal your kit? did you have an alarm on your car?

EW! Don't do it.. The one with the prelude Asstezzas is ugly as fark!

Shaving stuff just for the point of customizing is where a lot of cars that would be nice get messed up. I think mods should work with the car, and losing that piece that makes 4th gens tails look all to be one line just really messes up the look to me.

I'm 99% sure its not his. His isn't on the road now or something. That one has SiR rear seats, and an EDM rear bumper of some sort..

If it is his, I'm sorry but that car is done in POOR taste IMO. A spoiler mounted on top of the stock spoiler, chrome taillights (like that will never get old), nice shaved rear hatch and then a $5 oversized Honda logo STUCK on there... I could go on. Like the car is probably an SiR (I'm assuming because of the seats), why ruin it with cheap made in Korea low quailty aftermarket mods!??!

nope. his car has 4g civic altezzas not preludes, plus a sub wall so he has no back seat.

if you mean me, its not my car. just one of the many examples i have of prelude tails on a 4g civic. as far as people hating on them, i think the chrome altezzas look terrible also. i am using black housing lights, and shaving the center piece. i have pics floating around on here of my progress. and yes, that car i posted does look terrible, although the mold job is nicely done

LOL - sorry, it just doesn't work for me at all, but if it does for you then that's what matters :) BTW - the 'lude tails etc look like shit :p

keep in mind that all of these cars are show cars with lots of overkill, and that i only have the pictures to demonstrate the tail conversion.

To me, the only one that looks okay is the red one in the middle, because they used the stock tails. The white one is HUGE overdone. I can't even express in words how retarded Altezzas look to me. (uless they're on an IS where they belong)

Taillight conversions = big waste of money (to me... I can't see the point)

i agree for the most part, altezzas do look like ass most of the time. i have CF housing ones, but i am taking them apart and painting the housing black to match my headlights. i think it might look really good, but if it doesnt, i always have stock prelude tails put on it.

what about altezza's for show purposes ?

DarkImportGrey

there is a pic or two of sedans with the shaved center section... i personally don't like the look of it, and there is a 4g4d running around my city with a shaved center section and 5th gen headlights... looks like ASS.. he did such a horrible shave job...

the only reason i would even consider shaving the center panel is to reduce rattle... that is the only piece that rattles on my car, and even then it BARELY rattles... and the only place i haven't dynamatted is the trunk lid...

I don't see what's "showy" about having knock-off Toyota Altezza tails that everyone and their dog has....

Tail light conversions with stock tails from another car is a more respectable show mod to me..

WELDER.....the center reflector must be removed and a new pannel must be welded in for it to be done properly and not crack. The plastic will heat up in the summer and contract in the winter and this will crack the fiberglass. In addition. Fiberglass work will absorb the moisture in the air....as will the bondo....so it must be done indoors and must be painted a.s.a.p. otherwise it will crack once it gets a coat of paint because it can no longer breathe and the moisture will heat up and crack. Welding is the only way to go.
