got another si

you read that right! here's the story:

ever since we bought hooptie from honda's used car lot the sale's guy calls us whenever a 4th gen hits the lot. last summer a 90 si was avalible for $1900...but at the time we had money into the teg. a guy jer knows bought it. apparently it was repoed. like 3 weeks ago a friend of a friend got a 96 civic for $800 by auction thru the repo place. he saw the si there. we went down and the car wasn't ready yet. waited until it was...put a bid in and they said by law it has to run 15 days. the 15th day was tues. we call and they say auction doesn't end until that night and call wed. call wed (yesterday) and they say car & bids weren't dropped off yet at Honda (who was actually holding the auction) and call back in a few hrs. that happened a few more times when finally the lady says car will be delivered 10am thurs morning. guess what? IT WASN'T :banghead: 5 phone calls later and a trip down there....we finally were told we had highest bid of $1024.20

the car is in overall decent shape. hole in tranny. we have an a6 (jg cam, cam gear, header....) + tranny sitting here waiting to be dropped in. the previous guy painted some of the interior red :frown:

those who know my story can imagine me :jump3: over the winter i broke my toes and then tore ligaments in my wrist. jer took advantage and drove my car approx 4-6 mos. he got a little too comfy and it has been a damn mission to get my car back. now he will have his own Si AND he told me earlier he's going to start robbing my parts and getting me brand new (like my CF intake) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

so there you guys have it...we were able to get the "car" i've been talking about and it's a 90 Si. i'll take some pics after we get it home....hopefully today!

groovy :D what you gonna do with the busted tranny?...i wonder how hard it would be to take a si final drive and put it in my dx tranny ;)

edit- and if it so happens to have oem fogs. i want em :)

interesting side note...there was a dohc zc crx and a stock engine civic si that would race every weekend. the hatch would win everytime. apparently the hatch was taken to the track and pulled a 14.9 1/4mi. i have ZERO clue as to how that is possible :dunno: but we're going to find out....the hatch i'm talking about is the one we bought today!

kinda sorta. it has mods here and there like the hurst shifter (i'm gonna steal). the guy who previously owned it got the exhaust and intake off it...which just means jer will end up taking mine & i get new. the rims are actually the same rims that are now on std. it's just the si set were painted black :biggrin:

they are 13's on 70 series tires (175/70 to be exact). they will need to be repainted but aren't in that bad of shape. i don't care for the painted interior either. i'm sure you'll be happy to hear it's going b16 :eek:

i thought so :D luckily im getting closer to my swap day...i just picked up a z6 wiring harness to salvage plugs off of to convert over to mpfi (obd1 injectors which need obd1 clips) and z6 dizzy and what not.:D all thats left is ecu, obd0-obd1 conversion harness and 4 wire o2.

uhhhh....NO! you should know by now: the difference between you & me is my day to day living doesn't include speed. my si = daily driven grocery getter. it'll be in a car show before it'll be a track car. to be honest my car came to a hault because i couldn't decide if i wanted to go SiR front end or projectors & cf hood. the beauty of it all is now i can get the cf hood and he can get b16 and eventually SiR front end. then we will have best of both worlds :bigthumb:

it's not that i don't like them. we used to have 1. it just isn't practical for either of us to have a rex at this point in time.

we were outside working on the std and decided to order pizza. you should have seen the look on the pizza guy's face as he's looking around the driveway and he starts to compute that he's not seeing things

Too much time on your hands I see..gotta nit pick everything.:loser: but to get technical the CRX is still a Civic based car which uses the "4g" drive train and suspension and ineterior pieces. So a CRX still could be considered a 4th gen civic....
