Just had a thought.... (AF Model Gallery)

Since the Modeling forum is so huge, what about a parralell website that contains a gallery of models built by AF members, links to AF, how-tos etc. I have absoulutely NO CLUE WHATSOEVER HOW TO MAKE WEBSITES however. Just a though, no dissent here Igor/Jay/Other moderators;)

I had recently had the same idea. I think I mentioned it to Warren.

Who's interested? :D

Well, just so I can get an idea of how much space we'll need, why don't you guys post a list of all the completed kits you'd want up on the site.

My list is still short:

Also, if you have them at your fingertips, how many digital pics of them do you already have? And do we want to show the build-up on the site, or just link back to AF for the threads about them?

There is a list i have done in one of my other threads . It was called "some of the models i have done...what do you think".....i'll go and up date it now so you know whats in there.

I have my collection, most of which you have seen photos of!
I have all of Steve's pictures, so he is in whether he likes it or not!

Just say the word and they'll get zipped and on their way!

I like it when a brief story tells us about the kit too, ala Lau Bak stylee!

I think it should be, even though I own loads of 1.43rd hand builts! (Just so you don't think I am biased!)

There can be a small invisible non-intruding 1/43 section ;)

I'd be willing to post my two models as soon as I get access to a digital camera. Unfortunately my buddy is rather forgetful and she hasn't brought hers into school yet:( .

I dont have any models worth posting(unpainted bodis, crappy interior paint) as theyre not as good as yours. I broke my hand a while back and have permanent nerve damage which gives me no fine motor control(not like Parkinsons but i dont have strengh or the skill to paint), however, I would be able to do administrative stuff and post one of my better models. I'd be glad to do the administrative crap,Igor/Jay/Other moderators.

First off, I think we should keep it to pics of completed models, and save all the in-process stuff for here in the threads. Sound good? Other ideas?

Please label pics with the name of the model, at least enough that I'll be able to tell them apart. Also, remember to give me your AF username, and your email address if you want it on there.

What we (and the world) would like as well is a brief write up about the kit. Impressions, what you liked, what you didn't, etc. You don't have to give a step-by-step narrative, we'll just put a link to the threads in here about the model for that. :D Attach them with the pics as a plain text file, please. :)

Count me in. Ill have to get some pics of my other kits, and sort some of my shit out, but it definitly sounds cool.


Also, maybe it should have a cocked-up section for models that got fucked, explaining the cock-up and how it can be avoided. :mad:
im still upset over my monte kit being soo shitty looking

On a more serious note tho, I will get my cam going as soon as I get a chance. I could also help with the set-up of the modelling area, if needed.

The site wants to be a gallery that we are all proud of! If you want to see cock ups, we use the forum for helping each other and telling others what to avoid!

Okay, I'm going to be taking the pics soon and as I am doing so, will make a list of the models. It's going to be pretty long but well worth it.

I will try to get better pictures of my models. Then I will send them to you.

Let's keep it positive too guys, none of this "...I could have done this better!" or "Ignore that bit, I slipped with the brush!"

Tell us about what motivated buidling the model, what mods and changes were made, and definately what colour and paint was used!
