thinking of getting a eclipse

well u all ive been think about it and i think im going to sell my crx si and get me some thing new. im wantign to go with a new eclipse but not really sure i have heard they have some trouble with staying running at 100k any of u know about that and how much u like your eclipse:icesangel :dogpile: :comprage1

are u talkin about 3Gs?
how many 3Gs are at a 100K already to really say they have a problem

A NEW Eclipse? The 3G? You don't want one of those worthless things. get an older one. The absolute best of the best is the early 92 model year. 6-bolt motor , 4 bolt LSD , flush headlights . Eclipse GSX , Talon TSi . or Laser RS. Don't get a new one. They aren't even worthy of the name "eclipse":mad:

Although the CRX is nothing to sneeze at. As long as they are properly modded. Last IDRC up here I saw a rather stock looking CRX beat a Supra........:bloated: You'd be totally mystified too , but the CRX went 11.6 , and the poor Supra went 12.5 . A CRX is prolly the only Honda I'd care to own.:bigthumb:

I'm curious why you guys are putting down the new Eclipse. My friend wants to buy a brand new 2003 Eclipse. The base model, I think it's the RS version with the 5 spd and 2.4L 4 cyl. He says he would never buy a used car, and the new base model Eclipse only costs about $23,000 Canadian. Anyways why exactly are some people saying not to get a new Eclipse? It looks really nice to me but I'll be honest, I don't know anything about this car.

We are all DSM fans, what could be better than a 4cyl turbo AWD platform?? Now that Mitsu made this new 'Eclipse' that has nothing even remotely similar to our cars, and looks ugly, it has made us a bit bitter

Hey look at this... Its tha perfect thread... Im also looking to buy an eclipse... I cant afford a new one... But ive 2grand for a down payment and i want atleast a 95... I dont kno what years tha 2nd Gens are but if you guyz say there tha best than thats what i want... Where can i go to find out like everything about 2nd Gen eclipses?

AH This is gonna drive me crazy... How many trim models does tha 2G have?? I was searchin autotrader for an eclipse and tha models RS, GS, and GST were tha only ones that came up... Iono if thats all of em or not but some where i heard that there was a GSX that was AWD? Are they all AWD? Or only tha GSX? Or do i think that tha GSX is a GST? Cuz i didnt see any GSX's and i want an AWD turbo....

really!! i didn't think that they were that uncommon i know of at least 3 2G in my town and at least that many or more 1G GSX's. and i live in a town of 9000 people, in wyoming.

something else...i was in florida(orlando) in june that city has way to many 2G rs/gs. serously it was probably 1/18 turbo/NA eclipses down there. but whats worse is all the F*CKING CIVICS! they just piss me off. i will admit that there are some fast ones but not nearly as many as there are riced our ones.lol. but i didn't really mean to get that far off topic.

But how many GST/RS/GS Eclipses have you seen? Infinitley more, I bet.

I see a lot of GS's , to be sure , but it seems as though Colorado and Denver in particular has a high number of GSX's , both 1 and 2G's. :cool: I generally see several a day of both gen's.:biggrin:
