Changing Rim Size - Problems?

So the 2000+ V6 'Stangs have the worst looking Rims (Or perhaps too many cutesy fuzzy dice/cow skin toting girls have them... grrrrr)... and the sidewall is 65% of the 205s... good god it looks like a minivan tire...

Not my question though. I want to get the magnum Rims (Black or Chrome.. dunno which color) from TireRack and I have a question.

Is it a simple unbolt/bolt on new rims Job? What are the variables other than new tires (and realignment) am I not looking at? My step-father is an (omni)mechanc and prolly knows what to do and how to do it, but I was just wondering that if I go with 17/18 Rims, would there be a problem with changing them? also what about going up to 225s instad of 205s?

Also I'm installing Neon under the car. What is everyone's opinion about this little show-off method? I know the ricers in town do it, but I think it's kind of pretty (in a cutesy fuzzy dice kind of way). It would feinitely be nice to smoke the tires with a green light up for them to glow... muahahahahaha

Thanks for the consideration.

There shouldnt be a problem installing them on your car. but you might want to get them torqued down to the right specifications, so use a torque wrench. I am not sure how you plan on installing the tires but make sure they get mounted and balanced correstly. as for going from 205s to 235s there should not be a problem at all. i know on my GT i can go from my 245s to 275s in the back if i wanted and 245s to 265s up front if need be. And as for neon lights.......ROFL....but that's just my opinion. It is your car and you do what you please. I know in my town ANY car with neon lights would get laughed at (i am usually the one laughing). But Good luck dude!

Basically any tire size and rim combo you can put on a GT of that year you can do with the lil 6-cylinder.
