Got an Mr2!

Ok, I just bought a 91 MR2 n/a. The Engine has 105k miles on it. Needed new rotors, new brake pads, new clutch, new flywheel. I got all of that fixed, but, something went very wrong... It dropped a piston 2 weeks after I bought it. I got the car for 1,200 bucks, which I think is still really good. My friend just did an engine swap on his 91 Mr2, so he sold me his 5sfe n/a for $200!:dogpile:

Now, all I have to do is drop in the engine. I need help from some of you smart people out there. I need to know where to find really cool shit for my car, and things to hook it up (turbine kits, etc.).

I am ESPECIALLY looking fot the headlight conversion kit, which has your lights showing, they dont pop-up, they just sit there, with 2 bulbs in each lens. Im sure You know what I'm talking about!

Can anyone help me?!?!

Congrats on the car. I know what you're talking about with the lights, the same conversion is made for the Firebird and Corvette. Unfortunately, I don't know where to get it for an Mr2, only the Bird and Vette:frown: As far as where to buy parts...Try a search on Yahoo! for "Toyota Mr2 Performance" or something along those lines:smile: And welcome to the boards:bigthumb:

i found this, all they do is sell u the base and u have to choose the lights that fit in...

"The Flushmount headlight kit will include base, cover, 4m nuts/washer/cap screws, mounting arms/tabs, screws, 1/4-20 bolts/nuts/washers, alum for bracket for mounting of lights."

I dont know anything about the actual kit but its the only one ive seen for sale, if ur uncomfortable with making it urself i guess its good...

Good luck

Congrats on the car. Too bad you don't want a turbo motor. You could've probably bought a Jspec turbo motor for a little over $1000 used. Atleast your car will look nice though.

Its a pretty nice car... but I think more money was spent on looks than actual performance? I mean if he took just SOME of that money and put it on performance too, that car would fly... I don't like those rims either... but ah well...

I DID want a turbo motor, but when my friend said he would give me his non-turbo for 200 bucks, the first thing I thgought of was that I NEEDED to drive my car. I gotta go to work and stuff, and I'm only 17, I dont have a grand to just slap into a motor. Although, I am a performer and for a 17 y/o, I sure do make a pretty penny,(700 every 2 weeks). So sure, I dont have a turbo motor, but I can always slap a turbo on my 5sfe cant I?

That headlight conversion looks better on the MR2 then any Firebird or Vette I've seen.

ya you could and it would be better than the stock one anyways. 700 every two weeks thats a good deal what do you do? You could buy a turbo in no time.

Really?? I don't really like the ones on the Mr2 very much. They sit too far back or something. You don't like the Vette conversion?

Or here, the exposed version...Don't like it as much as the clear-covered version though, looks too 3000GTish...but still nice

I love them all and have urged my father to get them for his C5...To no avail:frown: But at nearly $2000(w/HIDs), I can understand his hesitation, hehe.
