Does anyone else here like Busta? If so, download his new song,
Break Ya Neck, it is the shit.
Rather pointless topic, but eh, just wanted to see if anyone else likes him.

Busta is the shit! I like his style, which is fast and hard rapping. Break Ya Neck is off the heazy! It's the most stupid video ever, and forget the lyrics cuz rap lyrics usually never make sense.
While we're talking about rap... I used to really not like Jay-Z, but his newest stuff is just so off the hook that you can't deny his rapping skills. DMX is tight, but lately, his stuff is sounding old and played out.
And why won't Puffy Daddy, Puffy, P Diddy, or whatever he calls himself just stop the rap game. He sucks and everybody hates him because his lyrics are arrogant.
Y'know who's also good, Lil' Bow Wow--kid can rap, and better than most too. He flows so flawlessly and quickly. I know some people don't like him cuz he's a kid trying to rap like he's a player and all hardcore and shit, but who cares. It's about the bloody flow, the beats, the music.

this is where you're wrong.... mainstream rap is usually fuckin wack, Jay-Z is shit, he can't rap worth ass
That's why Nas makes fun of his H to the izzo song with: H to the izzo, M to the izzo (HOMO)
the only reason i listen to hip hop is cause of tight lyrics, there's no point of listenin to rap if you don't like the lyrics, cause then all you're doin is listenin to the beat, which is just the producers job not the rappers, if a rapper doesn't have flow and good lyrics than why listen to him?
You gotta listen to Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Freddie Foxxx, Big L, atmosphere, thirstin howl or some other underground heads
Like my sig, Big L R.I.P. he was one of the best lyracists ever IMO

I'm not that into rap to care, I'm mostly in it for the beats. My favorite rap songs are still classics like "Nuthin But a G thang" and "Thuggish Ruggish Bone."
I listen to everything, but mostly rap, r&b (slow jams, but sometimes the hip hop ones), rock, pop, jpop, kpop, trance/techno, and dance.
I went through a period where I just hated the new rap music. This was when the dirty south was becoming mainstream. I did not like the style at all and abhored the gold teeth and do rag (sic) fashion. But now I'm back into it. I'm not hardcore, so I don't look past the mainstream stuff.

Or you can listen to rock, where the rockers actually make their own music, make the lyrics to go with the music, know how to actaully PLAY an instrument (and a turntable isnt an instrument.) without relying on lowriders, lots of gold necklaces, and hookers to make themselves look badass.
But that's just me.
But that's just me.

I like rap, but only if I'm in the mood for it. Best is rock with genius lyrics and an awesome tune. Anything from Natalie Imbruglia to Smashing Pumpkins.
I like tons of other stuff too, I'm not stuck on the above, like R&B, dance/techno, heavy stuff, etc

ohhhhh no! now you've done it! :angryfire :angryfire
first of all rappers take more skill makin their lyrics than any rocker.... do you know how hard it is to freestyle right off the top of your head? go and try it.... rhyme after rhyme makin sense, no rocker could do that
and how is a turntable not an instrument? Do you think you could just walk about to a turntable with a mixer/equalizer and mix and scratch good music.. let's see you go try that, it's not easy
and you're stereotyping all rappers to having lots of gold, etc. which is totall bullshit.... that's the kinda rap i don't listen to, underground rappers usually you don't see with any kind of jewelry, and they rap about politics and intelligent things....
It takes alot of skill to be a good rapper.... and the reason i listen to underground hip hop is because of most of the mainstream popular rap is garbage, those guys can't rap worth shit.... that's why you get the idea that all rappers are bad

if something makes a sound you can make it into an instrument IMO
but i was just trying to point out that it's not easy to use turntable & mixer to make music

Reminds me of the Nelly Furtado song, "Shit on the radio". It's about how people liked her when she was small time, but hated her once she made it big and get airtime on the radio. Calling her a sellout and comparing her to that Britney Spears pop shit. For example, I used be really into Bone Thugs-n-harmony. But after "Tha Crossroads" they became mainstream and sucked. Every category of music has it's mainstream or popular variety. I agree, it's catchy and generally crap (ie: Destiny's Child et al --> black pop music), but sometimes you just want to listen to the music and not have to think!
Also, I've never been into those rap songs with a message. It just sounds to weird for me. And they're generally the East Coast variety, so the flow is not to my taste.
