Your attitude against foreign brands and fans of foreign cars seems misplaced. As an AMC fan, you should recall that AMC was owned by RENAULT for years before Chrysler took it off their hands.

Besides, being a fan of AMC is on the same level (perhaps a notch below) being a fan of Kia or Daewoo.

Oh, and Kia going away? I don't think so. Kia sold 237,000 vehicles in the US. What was the last year AMC did that? It was 1976...preceding eleven more years of falling sales. Kia's sales are on their way UP.

And you're a Chevy fan? Then you'll be very glad to know about this fall's Chevrolet Aveo...built by Daewoo! Then there's the Canadian Chevrolet Epica...built by Daewoo.

I don't particularly like Daewoos or Kias. Hyundais are a little better, but not much so. I can't understand how Japan makes such good, reliable cars, and Korea makes...well....the opposite.

AMC is like a symbol of Americana. It may be considered technically a foreign car, but to Americans, it shows the epitome of the muscle car era. :)
