Beauty Contest

OK, this is pathetic, I admit. But my students (I'm a teacher) have a chance to win 5 PC's, a year's supply of free internet, and an 8000Euro party. All that has to happen is that their teacher (me) has to win a beauty contest.
A radio station here has started a beauty contest for teachers , and my students entered my picture (without telling me BTW). I found out about it a few days ago, when a colleague of mine told me. The picture is from a Grad party that I was invited to, a few weeks back.
Yes, it may not be the most breathtaking photo around, but I've decided to support my students (after they begged and begged to keep the photo entered in the contest) and go for the grand prize. Since I'm not going to win on account of my looks, I have decided to ask the help of the people in this forum.



All you have to do is click on the link, and click on the word "voten" beside the picture . Try not to laugh at the picture.
You can vote once a day per IP address until Monday, July 14th. The more votes the better the chances for my students. Man do I feel pathetic asking people to vote for me, but what the heck!

BTW, if the page doesn't open at first, maybe try again later cause the site has increased it's volume tenfold since the begining of the contest. Again you can vote up to once a day.

What the heck. You got my vote. Good luck - I hope you win that stuff for the school.

I don't get anything, but my students (well the school to be exact) get 5 PC's and free High-Speed Internet for a year. In addition they get a huuuuge video/dj dance party worth over 8000 Euros (about 9000 USD). Oh yeah, the winner has the embarrassment of having to accept the prize and the title of the "regions best looking teacher" - on air - in front of a large listening audience. The winner has to put up with a few years of jokes and stuff from colleagues and friends as well. A title that I hardly deserve, but I want the students to win the prize anyhow.

Oh yeah, I teach English and IT. (guess now I'll have to pay even closer attention to my spelling and grammar).:biggrin:

How does the DeLorean handle? How is the braking? Power comes from a Volvo or Peugeot 2.8L V-6, right? Just curious.

Its handling is pretty crisp and braking is adequate. Nothing real great, but it is a fun car to drive. The engine is the Renault PRV6 2.8L V6. Not very powerful at all but since there were < 9000 made, it is pretty unique to see on the road.

The AC in my name comes from Air Canada. Actually my name AC_A340-500 (Air Canada Airbus A340-500) is the name that I use in an aviation forum, and I thought I'd use it here too (so I don't forget it hehehe).

YogsVR4: yes, exactly from Renault. How could I forget that (silly me). Funny how I can remember displacement, but not the manufacturer. I'll always have a soft spot for the DeLorean (man, hope I've been spelling it right).

AC only has a few A340's right? They are quite large especially the 500 series, I've only seen a couple around here.

Yeah the 340 is a pretty big plane, as is it's twin engined sistership the A330.

There are four different versions of the A340:

the 200 Series: extra long range, about 195 feet in length.
the 300 Series: Long range, about 208 feet long
the (new) 500 Series: ultra long-range 222 feet in length
the new 600 series: long range 247 feet in length (the longest passenger aircraft there is)

Just for reference: the 747 is 231 feet long.

Air Canada was supposed to be the launch customer for the A340-500, but due to the financial problems, AC decided against it. They were to order two of them.

In total, Air Canada has ten A340-300's and eight A330-300's. Many if not most are leased.
