Whats Twin CAM?

What's a Twin Cam Engine. I was looking at my Dad's Chevy Malibu and it said something like 2.1L Twin cam on the engine. Is it more powerfull then a standard V4? Can I burn stock Civics with it? Can a Twin Cam support turbo?

twin cam means the engine has two cams one for intake and one for exaust....also known as DOHC
it has nothing to do with turbocharging except that you can tune it better than a SOHC....
also many honda's are DOHC...so to beat them it depends on how much your car weights and what hp and torques your putting...

Just to help you out a bit, the 2.4L "Twin Cam" engine in your dad's Malibu has two camshafts just like it was explained above. No cars currently on sale in the US have "V4" engines. The "V" means that the cylinders in the engine are split into (typically) two banks. A "V6" has two banks of three cylinders each.
Most four cylinder engines in US-market cars are "inline fours," which means all cylinders are in a row. Subarus are different, but currently they're the only ones.

Only V4 engine I know of used in the world is made by Honda for the Goldwing motorcycle.
Subarus boxer engines are just 180º, not really sure whether u would exactly consider that an inline or a V or what. BTW, doesn't Porsche have some flat sixes or something of the like??

i belive those flat sixes are just boxter engines

Horizontally-opposed, flat, and boxer all refer to the same type of design. When the "Vee" is spread to 180-degrees, that is considered to be a flat or boxer engine. There's an argument to call it the most extreme type of "Vee."

Most all engines can support a turbo, and there are VERY FEW V4s in production, and almost none are for cars.
And regarding "burning stock Civics", why the hell would you want to?

Most all engines can support a turbo, and there are VERY FEW V4s in production, and almost none are for cars.
And regarding "burning stock Civics", why the hell would you want to?
