E.C.U. / Fuel

Does the E.C.U. in the R-33 GTS-t automatically adjust to the octane of the fuel you are using?

If so, does it do so instantly, or will it take some time, and / or need an E.C.U. reset?

Also, what power gain, if any, could be got from running on 99 octane (using an octane booster) as opposed to 97 octane?

Hope one of you can help! Thank you!

Philip.

the ecu will retard the timing to a lower octane but you cant run high boost. the 97 octane that you have should be sufficient but the 99 will give you slightly better performance and less chance of detonation especailly at higher boost.

Hello,

I've been told it takes about 20kms for the ECU to adjust. In regards to fuel, you would get some sort of power gain from 2 octane units, but it wouldn't greatly noticable, the only difference you would notice is in your engine temp ie cylinder/ combustion temps.

Cheers,
