Who will the Champion in 2003

After more then half the season the title run is very close. If you imagine the Michael Schumacher took the title last year in France, the least we can say is that this year's championship is wider open the ever.

So time for a poll.

Do you think that Schumacher is capable enough to secure the title, even if Ferrari is in a little "Bridgestone" dip?

or

Do you think Kimi can win it, because the MP4/18 will be so good that it can revamp his title chances.

or

Do you think that Ralf started a good series of wins, which will help him secure the title, and not only for winning but also because of his consistency

or

Do you think that Jean-Paul Montoya can get the edge over Ralf and start a series of wins and comes out as the surprise Champion (givin' where he is right now?)

So voice your ideas and please keep it decent - let's get a respectfull discussion goin.

Interesting ... at the time of this reply, all 4 had 1 vote each ;)

MS. I think he'll do it. Again. ;) Or Ralf. Or Kimi. Or maybe JPM. But I think a Schumacher.

I really dont think the mclaren boys have what it takes to take the championship, although we will have to wait and see with the new car comin out soon.
Micheal Shumacher is a great bet, he always performs well, and i think it is most likely that he will win it.
I really like Juan Pablo Montoya, he is a great pilot, but i dont think his driving style meshes well enough with the new williams, plus being so far back in the points, i think it would be a miracle if he won.
Ralf Schumacher has been on excellent form most of the season, and has stepped it up the last few races. He is reaching his peak in synch with his car, which is just now starting to perform as expected from the williams team.
I think the championship will come down to either one of the schumacher brothers. If Bridgestone can cort out their tyre troubles, I think Micheal will win with ease, but if Bridgestone fails, Ralf will be able to steal the championship from his older brother.

Hehe!

You have one advantage boy. "ignoring mod's" is not allowed by default. Otherwise you would have been on that list from day one.

I would have to say I would most like to see Kimi take the title, but without seeing what the MP4/18 is going to do, it is hard to say, but he would be my number one choice.

If it has to come down to one of the Schumacher brothers though, I would have to say I would much prefer Ralf take the top honors.

Just remember Guido, you ignore me and you lose my help:tongue:

I think it will be between Ferrari and McLaren, the two biggest unknowns are the improvement of Bridgestone rubber, and how good the MP4/18 will be. Reliability is still on Ferrari's side and they have a great team that has proven they can overcome obstacles. McLaren are definitley a good team and have put more effort than ever into the 18, I have to believe it will be a serious contender with Kimi at the wheel.

I figure if Bridgestone's dry tyre doesn't get sorted out at least a couple of probable rain races will keep MS in the lead since he already has a little cushion. It's a close call, but I have to give it to MS, and he'll have to do it alone because Rubens can't stay on pace to provide any help.

Williams has done an incredible job sorting their car out, but overall, I don't think their team is as polished as Ferrari and McLaren.

I dont think anyone will really no untill after the Birtish GP. Thats the race where Bridgestone will have some improved dry tyres (I hope) and the new McLaren will be making its introduction. During that weekend we'll see the three top teams performing at their maximum.

Still my money goes to Michael Schumacher .

I do not believe Ferrari has shown all they have yet. MS will win, but this should be the tightest points battle F-1 has had in a few seasons. I hope the points battle goes to the last race.

Interesting and nice conversation we have here  Also cool to see, that Kimi get the same number of votes as the Williams boys togehter at this stage...

Anyway, we'll have to do another one in 3 races or so.

Oh and about the ignoring stuff, I was just joking of course.

michael will probably win but ralf is doing very good. If ralf can start consistently getting podiums he has a very good shot. I like kimi but he's starting to fade.

Kimi is starting to fade or the car is starting to show its age?

kimi was so strong early, i don't know if it is him or the car maybe its just that the schumachers have gotten so strong it doesn't seem like hes doing as well.

I think Kimi is as strong as ever, he's made the car look better than it really is all season. Now McLaren is in a real quandry as the 18 looks to be delayed again.

oops!, I need to vote!

Er, my gut feeling tells me its Schumi. He's really a good experience driver and I'll say he'll definitely pull off more wins, enuff to win the title.

But as williams is my favourite, I'll go for Ralf. Definitely the man to beat now, he's on form. Next is Montoya, my fav driver.

I think Michael Schumacher will definately win. It would sure be very exciting if the Driver Championship were to be decided at the last race in Japan. Hopefully by then Schumacher will have a larger lead over Kimi.
