Hi, i just purchased a set of 17 X 7 mags with a +35 offset. I have 225/45zr17 tires on them but there is rubbing in the back. According to the trd website, teh tirewize is good. Any idea on what the problem might be and would it help to change the rear shocks or coils?
Thanks
Thanks

The diameter of your 225/45/17 is correct, but the offset of the rims should be 40 or 42 for this width tire to work. Whoever sold you these rims should know that they do not fit the Camry with this tire size - get them to exchange them for you, if you can.
Yours probably rub on the outside in the fender. You can either get new rims in the right offset, get no wider than 215/50/17 tires, or or have your fender lips rolled-in, which might be enough and is not visible from the outside of the car.
Check-out other forums where this has been discussed a lot (www.toyotanation.com for starters)

it could be the tires but it could also be bad suspebnsion i the rear. check your shocks and struts and what not before you make any decisions

Worn struts and springs could very well be contributing.
But the wheel offset is about 5mm less than spec and the tire width is 20 mm more than OEM. This adds-up to the tire sticking out by about 12-13 mm on each side and for a Camry this is enough to cause rubbing...
