chev truck

Hi I have a Chev 1/2 ton....2 wheel drive. The problem I am having is that when driving the truck it stays in 2nd gear it won't go to 3rd. Do anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

I'm assuming you have an automatic? Look for either a disconnected vacume line from the intake manifold to the vacume modulator, or a bad vacume modulator.
