ok so last week my car got stripped in front of my driveway. I walked out on five men, i was scared and my car was laying there on the cement. My xenon kit ruined and my rims and tires missing. What is the best rims and tires out there and how can i prevent this from happenning again?

Wow, that's horrible. :( People are SO greedy these days they gotta steal other people's stuff just because they don't feel like buying it them selves. When you walked out on them did they leave, or did they not know you were there? Anyways, reguardless people are gonna steal stuff no matter what. I've had 2 Honda "H" emblems stolen from off my trunk lid, one while at school (it was one of those indiglo light up type) and a replacement to it (non light up kind) was stolen while at a local mall parking lot. I have custom wheels as well. Best thing for those is to have AT LEAST ONE lug lock per wheel. This is a special lug bolt that you need a special key type socket just to take it off with, so removing them is near imp;ossible unless you have that exact key socket to remove it. Other protection is taking out extra insurance through your insurance company to cover additional parts you get for your car. I'm taking out about $2500 insurance coverage on my car for parts (wheels, suspension parts and engine mods).

As for wheels/tires to get, it's all on what size wheels you want or had, as well as what look of wheel you are going for. Tires, that's just dependent on what your driving style is. I race my car as well as do canyon road driving so I use high performance tires. If you just do normal point A to point B driving, than you don't need anything exotic. You having a 2002 Civic, I'm guessing either you had custom wheels that you picked out yourself, or you had the XS-2 option on your Civic in which case the Xenon body kit on it is ONLY made excusively for the XS-2 package, and can't be bought on it's own through Xenon unfortunately. They typically come with "17 ALT brand wheels most of the time, but each is different and I've seen them come with all sorts of different wheels with that package from the dealer. Is your Civic an XS-2? Hopefully things work out with your car and the rebuilding up of it as well as catching the guys that did it if they haven't been already.

Wow zenongurl that is pretty shitty. You could install a different wheel lock for each stud, but if they want it bad enough they gonna get it. Put the ugliest rims with snow tires, then nobody will take your stuff.

Rims/tires from a Formula One car would best the best thing out there:bigthumb: Something like $100,000 & your car would look pretty damn goofy.

Insurance! It will be worth the extra $$$$ when somebody takes your stuff

Something else I just thought of... If they left your car sitting on the ground after taking the wheels/tires, make sure you have your brakes (the rotors and drums especially) looked over and at VERY carefully for any cracks and such.

Good call:bigthumb:

M3 rims got stolen all the time & were dropped on the ground. They usually got 4 rotors, 2 side skirts, & another set of wheels/tires each time.

That's bullshit! Some assholes used a crowbar to steal the wing off my friends car. Messed the trunk all up. People like that should shot! I guess it's just not safe anymore to have a nice car. Do you have insurance for that? Hope so.

Was it a big ole aluminum wing or a big wing in general? They should all be ripped off STREET cars!

No it wasn't some outrageous wing. It fit his accord very nicely. Hell no it wasn't an aluminium Sprint car wing. I would've broken it off myself if he put that on his car!

I think I would have helped you do it....that sh*t is nasty and all those who choose that route need to be castrated like the as*holes who stole the stuff off that persons car

i have a new set of advice. it's called a shock sensor alarm. i have my alarm set up to alert if the slightest shock is applied to the suspension of the car. that means, if someone tries to jack up the car with the alarm engaged, it will go off. of course, getting a jack under my car is not the easiest thing to do...:iceslolan

they also have proximity sensors, so if anyone even gets close then your alarm will go off, but i had one on a different car that i owned and it sucked cuz wind and loud trucks would set it off in my driveway all night long, and then it like started arming itself so i would constantly get up to shut it off, but i guess that was just a bad experience.:sly:

One of the first things I did when I got my car was put one of those ultra sensetive shock sensors with my alarm, but the damn thing went off so much, it didn't even seem worth it! Eventually I took it off and got a different one which is acting as the polar opposite! It takes a friggin earthquake to set my alarm off now!

I guess all the trouble of the first one would have seemed worth it if someone tried to jack me for my shit.
