Never really thought tooo much of the FTO... but looking at your pics looks like a pretty sexy car! Whats it drive like? Anything compared to a R32 Skyline? or better? :smoker2: :smoker2:

Damn fine car! Totally different to a Skyline, as it's a sports car, not a tourer. Short wheelbase, and sportier suspension tune = handles like on rails. It's light <1200kg, so it goes really well too, even without turbo, or big power. And the engine is huuuuge fun!

Especially now with the pod  :eek2:

And the more power we get out of it, the less fuel it uses  Explain that one. We're up around 550 km out of 50-55 L in the city now. :)

fuckn aye!! no shit? how much power it got?
My skyline handles like that but ive put GAB adjustable all round on HKS springs so it handles like a dream (well coming from a bluebird it does)
but then again the skyline is about another 140-150kgs heavier!
you guys part of SDU?

Yep - I joined SDU around feb this year.

Standard FTO GPX has 147 kW, and 200 Nm. Buggered if I know what ours would be at the engine now, and we didn't dyno it standard, so.... Doesn't really matter anyway. It goes pretty hard; on the way to the dyno day, I was behind Andy coming onto the motorway, and we both floored it as soon as it opened up, and I couldn't catch her!!!!!! :crying: So it's got a reasonable amount anyway. :)

Back on topic.

We are going to have to look for a new place to meet up now on Sat's. After Jon, Debs, and Rhys took off the cops showed up and moved us on. There is no longer any parking between 10pm and 6am at the museum.

Fucking John banks can suck my ass.

How about the car park, at the end of Tamaki Drive??

it has heaps of carparks, miles away from most of the hoons, and heaps of space to stand and chat??:flash:

Hahah BBYGTR.

We now need to establish a new meet up place. Maybe with the new place a new time should be looked at also.

What do you guys think?

I agree with SPECTR, the carpark at the end of Tamaki Drive, Is that the same one where we go sometimes to get away from the Museum? Thats a really good place and has really good lighting too.

Also, did we have a meeting at the Horse and Trap last week cause it was officially last week wasnt it? A few people asked me what was happening with the meetings now, are these still happening?

from memory that spot had far more ploice attention than the museum ever used to. Last time we tried there, a car load of young-uns were stopped turned over etc. ALso loose metal in the carpark, and the bottles around the place made for a less than ideal environment as, again while we were there young hoons, who have shitty cars with little power take advantage of the loose metal to doughnut their cars. Stones flying every which way........
Haven't been to the park at the end of Tamaki drive, but if it detaches us from the hoon element by some distance then that is all good. Is it city end or other end you're talking about?
Other end might not be so centralised for some people, is just my thought. My car hasn't been on the road for a month, which is the main reason I haven't been up in a while. Got to get back up there some stage soon.

Oh and on the Horse and Trap enquiry, I think our forums being down might have thrown a spanner in the works. Along with the time of year, we may have skipped this one unintentionally (unless it's tonight- someone call me on my cell if it's tonight 021 2898665), next month second tuesday we should get back into it!

Yeah true... sorry guys kinda forgot about the stone and debris factor...
has anyone thought about the helipad at mechanics bay? Its pretty central and nice enviroment... not sure if your allowed to park there or not tho

that could be a good idea. There is that little side road that the heliport accesses is off isn't there. Is ther anything else down there, or just the wharf entrance? Wonder if people can park along the verge or somethng or whether it's dotted yellow lines.
Banks is a wanker. Wouldn't it be funny if on Aprils fool day, all of Aucklands "boy racers" toilet papered his house and egged his cars. You know in the true spirit of the time of year and all.

I have also posted a thread in the Events section about this. I should have double checked here. Either thread will do.

Last tuesday was the meet night.
I guess with the forum down no one knew if it was on.
Quite like the end of Tamiki Drive as a meeting place because the cops can't move us on as its a public street. (As long as we behave.)
Really would be good to meet around 7.30 - 8.00.

wheres this carpark at the end of tamaki drve? is it like over by st heliers? or mechanics bay?

RazorGTR

It is on the side of a park. We have met there before and if we go there early enough such as BBYGTR mentioned we can do other things in the park while there is still light and weather permitting.
