at this link http://www.prototyperacing.com/f20kit.htm

they are working on using the K20A transmission and mating it to the F20C, Now I know that Hasport is working on a K-series Motor mount Kit for the 4th gen civic 2nd gen CRX.

With a few little modification we might be able to put a F20c in our cars... what do you guys think ?

holy mother of god. throw enough money at HASport and I am sure they would do it, just to prove they could :)

After finishing the new Lotus Elise - Honda K20A conversion kit, the engineering will commence on the F20C conversion.

This will be a more substantial project, as it will require a completely new casting for the bell-housing end of the trans.

Prototype Racing will produce this casting, fully machined, for anyone desiring to mate the F20C engine to the K20A trans.

That caught my attention... because there's no price tag as yet... I know fabricating something like that will NOT be cheap in the least. Is quite possible though.

I think for that kind of money, I'd buy a Type-R engine (civic or integra, take your pick)....

It's been done in some kind of newer Civic.

a K series has already been dropped into a new civic coupe that used to have a D series... it was featured in Honda Tuning...

I meant S2000 engine in a Civic. But this Civic was converted to RWD.

Wouldn't the F20C be able to use an Accord Fseries transmission?

In which case couldn't you use and Hseries or Fseries mount kit to mount the engine like that?

i believe the F20C in the s2000 shares little with the F series in an accord... kind of like how the B20 in the older preludes (old bodystyle like a 4th gen) is the bastard child of the B series, and doesn't mate up with newer B series...

God if if it were only possible DIY, but D.I.G. is right the F20C of the S2K shares little with it's Accord cousin. not to mention the F20C is meant to be laid out longitudely, not latitudely like even other Honda. But wouldn't it be sweet.

Yeah, I see what you mean.

In which case, that'd still be A LOT of cash to shell out for a swap like that...

IMO it would prolly be a lot easier to just make a mount kit for the K series. considering the location of motor mounts on the F20 (like the fact that their is no front mount, just two side mounts, and that putting it in sideways would meant that theres nothing on one side to hold it up)

and if they are using a K series tranny, then why all the extra trouble for the f20. if they are that intent on using something from the s2000, just take the f20 head and put it on a k24 block, i guarantee thatll stomp any other NA motor swap. granted theres more to it than just a simple bolt up, but its a helluva lot easier than the whole f20 (from what ive seen inside the Kseries at work anyway, never had the pleasure/horror of opening an f20

I think i'm gonna stick with b-series. Theres no point in putting a k series motor in our cars. With that money i'd use it on my motor and be in the 11s and 12s.

s2000 powered 4th gen is a cool idea to me but only for someone that has too much money to throw around. other then that i think it would be a waste of cash.
