I am in the process of building up a d16y8 motor. I am looking to build the motor for boost and a small shot of spray. I am just looking for some info on what would be the best way to build it up for this application. I am looking for what type of pistons, fuel, cam, rods etc etc. Any info will help i this long buildup process.

Your stock pistons should be fine for that. How much spray are you planning to use, that can make a differance. You'll most likely want to upgrade your injectors however, and get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. While you're at it, get a larger fuel rail too. The Y8 head an intake manifold units are about the best flowing of any of the D-series engines, so nothing to change there. Check out Dseries.org (http://www.dseries.org) and ask around there anything else you may want or need to do. It's an all D-series motor website.

The rods are the weakest link in a D series. Definitely get aftermarket one like Eagle or Crower rods. And yes get pistons for peat sake, if you are boosting AND N20 you would melt stock pistons for sure. Try JE pistons, Wiseco or Arias are all good too. Crower cam specifically for a turbo application should net you a few ponies too.
What are your goals? How much boost you want to run? How big of shot do you want? I don't really think changing the fuel rail is necessary, but it depends on what you want. If you want to go N20 please get a direct port wet kit, no dry kit whatsoever. Just a plain wet kit is OK, but I wouldn't-direct port is the only way to go IMO for a turbo application.
