Car was in shop for 20 days to do audio work.
Drove car two miles, brakes began to drag then eventually locked up and stopped the car. Pedal was rock hard. Stopped car, waited ten minutes, pressed brake pedal 20 times, brakes released after I heard a click from both front calipers, almost simlutaneously.
Drove 20 miles on freeway, no problems.
After third stoplight and 1/2 mile of accelerating to about 70mph gradually, brakes began to drag again and withim 1/4 mile, were locked up.
Pedal feels hard after car warms up and after 2-3 stops, the brakes suddenly apply themselves and bring the car to a stop.
Pulled ABS fuse, no change.
No fluid leaks.
No apparent kinked lines at master cylinder, brake fluid is full and clean.
Recent brake pad change at Platinum Motors in Orange County.
Brake lights were not working, changed to no factory stop light switch at pedal. Disconnecting this switch makes no difference.
Master cylinder? Servo? Did the stereo shop unplug something?
I hope its' something simple.
Car is a 98 SV Monterery with about 15,000 miles on the clock. Car ia babied and never run hard.
