hi, Im planning on getting a b18C engine in my 93 4 door civic, I was just wondering if this engine is a good choice for my civic and if there are any extra modifications i need in order to put this engine in my car.
and also how do i know that these engines have low miles or not, alot of places on the net say "These engines are all below 35k miles" can I trust that? ,
thanks

yes the b18c is an excellent choice for your 4 dr. yoou will probably need to switch some mounts around, little bit of wiring and thats about it if yoou are going to get the complete changeover. i think you can use most of the integra mounts, but one or two mounts will need to be replaces by an si mount. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

B18c is a very good choice. I would switch the mounts for some aftermarket ones. About the mileage. Its all bullshit. Dont believe them whatever they claimed. If its a usdm yeh you can probably tell since they be getting it out of our own cars but over seas its really hard to tell. If you are plannin to rebuild it then u shouldn't worry.

well i wasnt planning on rebuilding since thats gonna cost me an extra arm and a leg as far as cash goes, this engine is already gonna cost me 3,000 (not installed). how much does it cost to rebuild an engine like this?

You can go cheap with more power. I'd get ctr pistons (300 bucks) and i guess you can throw in some eagle rods (320-350). Before you install that , get it honed. It shouldn't be more than a 100 bucks. Replacing all the bearings should be around 200. I would replace the water pump and timing belt and i would also replace the clutch since its out. I know it sounds alot but hey if your gonna spend 3g's on a motor u want it to last rite? I would do it if i was you.

well I have 260,000 miles on my car and its still kickin good, body is in ok shape, and its just a matter of time before the engines blows. So i guess buying all the extra stuff i need too for the b18 enigine is worth it because its better than buyng a new car. :)

Yeh sounds like a good idea. If your car is workin rite now you shouldn't be in a hurry to swap in it rite away.
