coolent light

My wife has a 96 Chevy Caviler. The coolent light came on the other day. No problem.
I checked and the resover is low so I put in the cool orange "special" coolent and brought everything up the the cold level once the motor had cooled. I checked all the hoses for leaks, checked the coolent for oil (had that expeiance already), and everything looks great! Then i drove the car for about 30 min and got it good and hot and the temp gague is normal and all is good but the light has not gone out.
SO I called the local chevy service lots for suggestions. All of the first three inspired me to "BRING MY CAR IN" which I am not going to do just yet. The first shop said they have a computer that will turn the light off. The second shop said that I should disconnect the battery to make the light go off. The third shop said I needed a special tool to turn it off with. I say that they are all smoking somthing.
I am not going to take the car in because of the light if I can not find any problems. Does anyone have a suggestion?
I am tired of the inconsistant answers at the dealers service shops:confused:

I'd say to try unkooking the battery overnight. Its worth a shot. I had the light come on and i added coolant and the light went off. Not sure why yours didn't.

same thing happened in my 97 Cav. I put in the "special" dexcool coolant, even changed the coolant senor on the block. The light went off for a little while then it came right back on. It has remained on.
