Oil pressure sensor

I have a 2007 Silverado 1500 2 wheel drive 5.3. The oil pressure warning has come on a few days ago. I haven't driven it but have been starting it to keep the battery up in this minus 40 -30 below zero weather. The mechanic I use is 6-7 miles away. The pressure gauge is at about 10, maybe. Is it safe to drive that far? I am hoping itis just the sensor!

If the gage is accurate, don't drive it with 10psi.
