Hello everyone. Have been absent for some time.
Still driving the Buick. Have a question regarding the cruise wiring at the control. A red wire has come off and when last used it seems using the button on the end of the signal switch does not slow the vehicle. It must be related to that loose wire. Is it possible to disassemble the signal lever and reattach the wire?

If it is broken off inside the lever, no.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes it is. I was hoping there was a method to open it. Off to search for another steering column.
What models outside of the PA may have the same column? There is a 1991 Buick La Sabre?? at a local wrecker. I'd have to pull the steering column to do comparison

Is that broken wire from the handle or the harness down the column? If in the column, you be able to fix it if you can reach it.

No the broken wire is right at the control lever. Bad luck today. The 1992 Buick I hoped to salvage the column has a signal broken lever. It's pulled out and bent. I brought it home and was able to straighten it but can they be interchanged? See the picture attached.

Well guess what. The lever pulls out. I found this pdf.

And to think I've spent all this time removing the steering column and hunting the scrap yard. Not done yet but there is hope. Quite a learning experience. Thank you internet.
