Unfortunately the "regular" vipers aren't listed there. Performance is similar to the ACR.
As a few of those are aftermarket Tuners, you forgot the production King Snake
777hp and 703ft/lbs.
Yeah, the Viper is incredible. Not only is it incredibly powerful (enough torque to bend it's rear axles!), but it can pull almost a G! That's incredible. However, what doesn't show up in that infinite list of stats is it's horrible fuel efficiency. It gets worse gas milage than a Lamborghini!
The viper also has some serious potential for modifications. With a Stryker Twin Turbo you can get it well past 900 hp! Incredible.
I think the current Viper has much better looks than the new concept. It looks cheesy. Granted, that roof scoop, and some of the other body pieces will be scrapped or altered, I prefer the previous look.

The King Snake looks just like a GTS. That is, until you get under the hood.
I'd prefer an ACR with a stryker turbo kit.

I have driven 2 vipers.
1999 GTS, sweet ride...VERY torque, and very fast. I would much rather have a new C5 over the viper due to the comforts and the cost of a Vette to a viper.
Hennessey venom 650R, the Yellow one in all the mags. WAS A FAST CAR! I liked it, but then again I like speed. Again i prefer a lingenfelter 650 C5 over the viper.
Just my input....

A few months ago, while in the market for a sports car,I test drove a '00 GTS ACR. It felt incredibly powerful. Had very nice handling also. Then I test drove my Z06. The Z06 wasn't quiet as powerful, but I think that the handling was better. Car and Driver and Motor Trend have rated it at .98 and .99 Gs. The Viper is a very nice car though. I have yet to race one.:D

I like the Viper.
I wish I were you, test driving Vipers and being able to afford them. I will to, someday, but not yet.
What about the Lingenfelter Viper, it is faster than any other Tuner Viper.
Enzo, tell us where we can learn more about this turbo kit, and why don't all tuners use it???

Lingenfelter? No way. The lingenfelter Viper has something like 640 hp....the stryker TT gets damn near 1000, the Hennessey 800 gets something like 830 (see the new MT (or, was it C&D or R&T????)), and there are many others that I think are faster (TNT king snake and maybe even the ACR!).
For more info on the Stryker TT, click Here (http://www.supervipersystems.com/Upgrade_Systems/Stryker_Twin_Turbo/stryker_twin_turbo.html) or here (http://www.supercars.net/SDBQ?y=2000&m=Dodge%20SVS&o=Viper%20Stryker%20Twin%20Turbo).

Car and Driver found the Lingenfelter Viper to be faster than the Hennessy 650R and TNT King Snake. I haven't got all of my mags yet, but I will check to see if the 800 is faster.
That Stryker is somthin else!!!! I might be worried about traction, though:rolleyes:

Lingenfelter Viper
0-60 3.9
Top speed. 200 mph
1/4 mile 11.4 sec
HP : 682
torque : 580 ft lbs
weight: 3460 lbs
Hennessey 800
0-60 3.1
Top speed: 230
1/4 mile: 10.2
HP: 800
torque: 800 ft lbs
And I'd imagine weight would be similar.
Hennessey 650 R
0-60 3.3
Top speed: 207
1/4 mile: 11.2
HP: 650
torque: 650 ft lbs
weight: 3250
These are my figures...looks like the 650 should be faster....a little less hp, but much more torque and less weight.

I am amazed that you would comment on the Viper's mileage. FYI, the Viper can get 23 mpg in 6th gear, but no one ever uses 6th gear (I have been in 6th gear less than 10 times in the 4 years that I have owned my GTS Coupe). You forgot to mention that the Lamborghini Diablo cannot be used as a daily driver, because clutches only last 4k miles and cost over $5k to replace (or that the major tune ups costs $25k).
To me that's pretty sad when a car costs $275k, performs like a Viper and depreciates like a lead balloon.

I have been in the hi-tech sales arena for quite a long time. I'm in my mid-40's and I put aside moeny for this car and paid it off about a year and a half after I bought it. I don't lease cars that I intend to keep. I plan on giving this car and my '85 Corvette to my kids. I do plan on buying a Viper Coupe when the new ones come out (or a comparable car...especially if Bob Lutz is behind it at GM). That car will go to my third kid. All they have to do is graduate college and they get some pretty nice cars. I am a perfect example of an average guy that worked my butt off after college, who never lost site of my passions.
I am in the process of getting out of the sinking hi-tech industry and starting an exotic car related business. It's time to follow my passions, and not worry about money.
Chris, sorry my initials aren't CC (they are BC).
Take care.

Any of u guys heard of SKIP BARBER DRIVING SCHOOL? Thats where i went 2 winters ago. I got to drive a 99 Viper GTS. I must say that is one hell of a car, one punch of the throttle and your head gets pinned to the back of teh head rest. We did a little auto-X and that was a whole lot of fun. The real wheels almost spun around on me during a turn. MAN WHAT A RUSH~ I have videos of me driving it, i wish i could find it though. :p

I haven't gotten a ride yet, but I know someone who has a 1 of 2 special viper road cars ever made. It is basically a street legal 99 Viper GTS-R. They have the exact same paint sceme as the Team Orcea Viper's. They even have the same wheels and brakes that the GTS-R Vipers have. i can't remember the power, either 580 or 680 (i hate my late night memory) and i will get a ride in it soon, and maybe even a chance to drive it1 I can't wait.
