Clutch problem

I have a 1994 850 CSI with only 15,000 original miles; and a consistent loss of clutch petal pressure since Day 1! While under warranty, BMW replaced the clutch and thereafter approximately twice each year bleads the line which restores pressure for only a few weeks.

From a cold start, although the clutch petal pressure is soft, it is operational; after driving approximately 50 Highway miles (with little shifting) the petal is literally down to the floor with no return; on one occasion, I was unable to shift out of neutral until pulling over for about 15 minutes.

Two local BMW dealerships insist there is no leak in the line or other identifiable cause, instead advising me to "drive the car more often".

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, or otherwise have any insight for me?

Thanks...CE

That's really strange...I'm sorry to say, but I don't have any ideas for you. It sounds like you will probably need to replace the entire clutch assembly, plumbing and all. :frown:
