Mk 4 electrical problems

Hi.
I have a VW Golf mk4, 1.4 16v, 1998. Today I encountered some electrical problems: the signal lights from the back don't work (but for some reason they work when I use the hazard light), the electrical windows and the sunroof also don't work same is for the inside lights and my trunk doesn't lock when I lock the car.
Has anyone have any idea what it could be? My guesses are the battery and alternator are at fault but I'm not so sure.
I want to mention that it started randomly, I was driving and notice that the indicator light from the dash board blinked rapidly which I tought it indicated a broken light bulb. Now after this it worked for a 1 minute or 2 randomly and now it doesn't work at all. Same goes for the other things mentioned.
